player compared to those guys. I remember him in the bar at Bell Club. In
fact, I think I remember him getting hustled at the Pac Man machine by Alex,
the Russian guy. lol They were betting white chips.

In 1964 Roger owned the Union 76 station at the corner of San Bruno Ave.
and El Camino Real in San Bruno. He was one of the best live ones at
Artichoke Joes in those days.

Back in maybe the very early '80s, I'm down town San Diego. It's a tough
neighborhood, and cardrooms all over the place in those days. I think I'm
playing something like $1-$5 high draw, guts. So, it's round table, and I'm
dealing. I give two people 3 cards after the draw, and gotta reshuffle.
What the fuck? lol
Ah, I loved that neighborhood in those days. Cardrooms, hookers,
degenerates, cheats, fights, stabbings, my kinda place. I loved it.
