I didn't post a write up when I went to Red Rock last Tuesday night when I returned from Florida and saw The Departed.. It was a great film. But I was not so compelled as I was with Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington as I was with The Departed. I just returned from Texas Station watching it. Ironically, for a serious drama film, it got more laughs than most comedies. I thought Deja Vu was way better and left me with so many questions. I hope to get a discussion about it someday. The main question is; "how will Claire Kuchever ever prove to ATF Agent Doug Carlin what happened?" Weird shit. The Departed was rated; Critics: A- Yahoo Users: B+ Deja Vu was rated; Critics: B- Yahoo users: B+ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453467/ RazzO email:ticorazz (at) yahoo.com http://www.razzo.com ________________________________________________________________________ : the next generation of web-newsreaders : http://www.recgroups.com

That was a great line, and a key line, in Deja Vu. I've been thinking about it all day, but will wait to give you views of what happens if there was, er.., let's say, a Deja Vu II. Bill Marsilii & Terry Rossio did an excellent job on cutting the loose strings on this screenplay. I took my ex-wife and an old friend of ours that was in town visiting her. We talked about the film earlier today. She just called me and told me she heard the quote on a TV show. This is basically what it is; "What if you had to tell someone the most important thing in the world, and you knew that they would never believe you?" Time to drop a name. I may have posted this in the past. Our (her) friends name is Jeanne Gangami, widow of the late Sam Gangami. In the early 80's we met this couple at one of our first apartments and became good friends. Sam was a cook at the Desert Inn Hotel (now Wynn.) He was the personal cook for Tony Orlando. When their 4th child was born, a boy, named Danny, in 1987, Sam and Jeanne asked my wife to be the kids godmother. They asked Tony to be the godfather. We went to Danny's christening. We partied all night with Tony and his wife. In the late 90's the Sam and Jeanne moved to Branson, Missouri. Good times in Vegas, the 80's. I agree. But somehow this movie, which I liked immensley, left me wanting more from it. I wanted to know more about Claire. Who she was and why her apt. had what seemed like a key roll(almost a character) was not used more. I can't explain it, it just left me wanting a litle more character wise. Not to mention the bad guy. He just pops up from nowhere and very little background given. His character did work ands was very effective. But it would have been better, imho, to know a little more about him other than just a freak against the world. just my thoughts. _______________________________________________________________________ looking for a better newsgroup-reader? - www.recgroups.com

I feel the apartment was the key 'character' as you so accurately put it. I also wanted to know more and see more of the twist at the end. The bad guy Carroll Oerstadt (Jim Caviezel, who was Jesus, The Passion of the Christ (2004) was a very weirdly played character. What did you think of the feasibility of that software? What was the peripheral software called in the customized Hummer? Where he was looking through and driving through two time zones? Awesome. GREAT FILM! As is typical of Jerry B, the driving scene was great. In fact, I think he took it to higher level with this particualr scene. very creative and well done. That said, the logistics of it brought it down a peg. But, like I said, Bruckheimer blows that away with the action. The time travel software/equipment did nothing for me to be honest. I was expecting much better. It WORKED, just not on the level I was thinking it would be. Best part was when he somehow thought the laser pointer would have an effect on the past. Great move...but how could he even imagine that would happen given how new he was to this whole thing.? The tech guy with the beard?...Just awesome. Is he related to JB somehow? He's been in a lot of his flicks and is always top notch. ---- RecGroups : the community-oriented newsreader : www.recgroups.com

No. Did you see the size of the explosion? There wouldn't be a trace of human remains. What is weird is that Agent Carlin didn't tell her he time traveled.
