good start -- bad finish won 5 sessions in a row -was great trip until last 2 sessions overall results: BIG upset - a win and more than it should have been will post a few details latter but a few interesting things happened 2nd night- playing omaha8 6-12 with full kill: 1st hand i was involved in- i split low and lost $6 - last hand I played I split low and lost $1. There was slightly more than 4 hours between those two hands. In those 4 hours I one ONE hand - yes that is right - I won 1 (one) hand. It was a pretty nice pot since I left the Omaha8 game up $150+. Moved to the 15-30 holdem game where the cards were more friendly. saw a new dealer error that I have never seen before: a dealer turned up the king of hearts to a player. It was not flashed - IT WAS FACE UP ON THE TABLE. The player had looked at his 1st card and would not return the card to the dealer. The dealer started asking for betting action and I ask the dealer about the card. He shrugged and said the guy would not give it back to him and continued the action. I left the table and have no idea what happened. I did point it out to a floor man and he acted concerned and i pointed out the dealer. An observation- this was a trip of short handed games - rarely was there a full table where I was playing. Players chips might be there but rarely was there 9 players at the table. I dislike 9 handed games anyway and when 2-4 players are missing - it is really short handed. I ask one of the floor people about a 3rd man walking rule and he said they did have the rule but it was a "shitty" rule and they did not enforce it. The real joke was being in the main game with a sizable list for "must move" table (which was full) and the main game ALWAYS having AT LEAST one empty seat and more than 30 minutes with THREE empty seats. Sounds like good management - a FULL must move game with 3 or even 4 empty seats in the main game. (empty seats aka NO CHIPS THERE AND NO PLAYER) As I said I HATE short handed games and short handed Omaha8 is a nightmare. More observations - The highest limit omaha8 I saw anywhere was 6-12 and all Omaha8 games were kill games and it appears many holdem games are becoming kill games. NL is alive and one of my follow up reports will include a short and only stop in a $40 max buy NL game A personal play weakness on the trip. I let actions not related to the game affect my play and these distractions probably caused more than 50% of my losses in the last two sessions and even limited my winnings in a couple of other sessions. I rarely do that but upon review of my play it is the only logical explanation for much of my bad play. Not a "tilt" per say but just lousy poker with decisions that were just plain stupid. I dont play poker for the money but I still hate playing poorly -- MINUS200 "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, scotch in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
