Subject: Whats wrong with Annie Duke?

Anyone who knows anything about poker would agree that Annie Duke is a hell of a
good card player. But it seems Annie has got caught up in all the Hollywood and
ESPN2 celebrity bullshit.
And she's not the only poker player to be blinded by the flash from all those
cameras. A lot of today's poker greats jump at the chance to make themselves
look like retards just to be on TV.
Fame, ain't it a shame.

I cant believe people think Annie is hot or has sex appeal. You guys
must be joking or drunk or high or secretly gay. She isnt the least bit
attractive as far as televion personalities go. Im not sure which show
it was, but she was an annouce for the poker tournament along with
Hellmuth. Every time he said something she would interrupt him. When she
said something wrong he would correct it and she would back down. Her
voice isnt the most pleasant either. Im sure she have a lot of poker
skill, but I refuse to watch any show that has her in it, except as a
silent poker player.

The sex appeal part misses me unless you are talking about sex appeal like
'I want sex and she will do.'
Tad Perry wrote a niece essay on how men pick women and if she is doable
and available, she is sexy.
Maybe it is the free spirit look to some.
Funny, but as you get old, you start seeing women of all ages a little
differently. Only the ones that really have class, smarts, and sex appeal
seem to interest me and even at that, I know they would never be
interested in me.

Hmmmm...grind and sweat and toil trying to make a living at poker...?
Or trade on some of the notoriety that's been handed to me BECAUSE of

I saw her on some Discovery Channel program (I think) where they were
testing abilities for determining when people were lying. They had some
professional guy that was supposed to be better than a polygraph machine,
maybe somebody in law enforcement and several other people along with a
polygraph test.
Annie was the best at telling when somebody was lying.

She's a bright woman, obviously, and I've read that she was a doctoral
student in Psychology before her big breakdown or whatever it was.
But mostly I think it's that she's studied this kind of thing quite a bit.
Her poker camp usually has one of the FBI guys that specialize in this kind
of thing giving a lecture on how to read other players, so I think she's
just got a lot of training.
