I'm taking a poll, and suggestions, for the best name for PokerStars. They have very little to do with actual poker, so they definitely deserve a new name. The possibilities that come to mind immediately (and please feel free to come up with more suggestions) are as follows: 1. RiverStars 2. CheaterStars 3. BullshitStars 4. JokerStars I'm casting my vote right now (to be possibly changed if someone comes up with a better suggestion) for CheaterStars, even though JokerStars has that appealing rhyme going for it. CheaterStars really captures the essence of what they are doing with the rigged deal better. Hey there's another one. 5. RiggedStars

UnrealStars. I do believe the site is setup at the lower levels. <rgposter@yahoo.com > wrote in message news:1166099816.211926.19710@j72g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > I'm taking a poll, and suggestions, for the best name for PokerStars. > They have very little to do with actual poker, so they definitely > deserve a new name. I've been absent from these boards, and from online poker, for a few years now -- just getting back into it. Back when I started, Paradise Poker was the most popular site, and also by consensus, the most crooked site. Then, after the WPT started airing, and Party Poker became the most popular site, it was derided as being rigged. Now that PokerStars appears to have most of the US action, it's the one people accuse of being rigged. The more things change, the more they stay the same... which of course leads me to point out that newGCA is still hot on Doyle's trail... If you named it after me you'd have to call it WinnerStars, not DonorStars as I make money on Stars. Only thing is it's about 1% of what it should be. But I definitely do not advocate calling it WinnerStars, but another good name might be StupidStars. I still leave my vote as CheaterStars though.

It's all the above. Notice the rise in complainers and the decline in PS sock puppet RGP shills? Did anyone read the recent post where the poster claimed that PS has geared the software even tighter, as the window for them to stay open to US players is about to close? They are, IMO, sucking all the cash they can by way of my original claim that the PS software (and others) is designed to leave the cash (deposits) on the site for as long as possible (or as long as PS wants it there), to maximize rake. I don't know if PS has Cheater Bots, that win pots, but if I had to give a yes or no answer... it would be yes. The first few years I thought it was a special d/l I received that was given to my by a person I will not name. Because there was a difference of opinion on how long I was to leave a PS banner waving at PokerWorld.com, the site I founded, but no linger own. I believe as I have since before going to Costa Rica and working on three different softwares. It's rigged. It's rigged to keep the money on the site. The phones rang off the hook when i was in the support office(s). I even took a few. Players cussing and screaming and declaring that they are being cheated. This was almost 4 years ago. I have posted these comments before; I win at B&M. Cash games and tournaments. I have never won a dime at Stars. 5 years. We've all heard this exact same whine before ad nauseam. For example Tony "Popinjay" thought he was being cheated in Stars' ring games, citing the same reasons as you probably would state: that he won much more at much higher levels in live action. Then he won a Sunday tourney and realized that he wasn't as good as he though he was when it came to_on-line_ ring games.

Well, I think there's probably a lot of cheating in high stakes ring games, on Stars or anywhere. In addition to that, I would also guess Popejoy has excellent people reading skills that would not help him online. Also I would guess the level of play is worse than online, even subtracting out the probable high levels of collusion.

So it looks like the front-runner right now is WhinerStars, with 2 votes, and then one vote apiece for each of the following: CheaterStars UnrealStars DonorStars DonkeyStars CoolerStars Week-In-MauiStars and last but certainly far from least BullshitStars So I would say so far it's too close to call.

It has come to my attention that this vote is RIGGED because one of the votes for WhinerStars came with a couple other suggestions or perhaps votes. Because of the lack of clarity in that ballot I would strike one of the votes for WhinerStars, which means that this election is a DEAD HEAT and the each of the above suggestions have received one vote each. This decision has been made due to issues with the ballot and has nothing to do with my invested interest in WhinerStars not being declared the winner.

Ok I guess this crappy election is too close to call so I will change my vote from CheaterStars (which now has no votes) to RiverStars. Now RiverStars has two votes and the other suggestions have one vote each. If there are no more votes cast in the next hour RiverStars will win. The votes will be counted in one hour and a winner will be declared and then I promise to let this thread die.
