I'm thinking of starting a poker store but I'm not sure what to sell. If you can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Please answer the following question: If you could buy one poker product that would improve your game, what would it be? Doesn't have to be a video or DVD, could be anything... Thanks! Borat

I'm a bit dissapointed with these responses: 1. Why all the rude posts suggesting I have no business experience? I actually have a lot of it, and have run a successful e-bay business for about 6 years. I also have taken many business classes from one of the nation's top business schools. 2. I have been a Texas Holdem player and enthusiast for over 10 years. If you think poker products are saturated, you're probably right. That is why I was asking about a niche product, something that not everyone sells or makes, but something that might be lacking in the poker world. Any other suggestions? Borat

I don't mean to be rude, but if I could think of a new product for the poker marketing niche (which I haven't) why would I post the idea for it on a public newsgroup? More likely I would try to start my own business or even sell you the idea, but why would I just give the info away. I didnt mean to be rude either, but a poker store just isnt a good idea. Maybe having a store with a corner of poker would work?

Ok bucko - you want to make some money selling poker products. Here's how you do it. 1. Match the inventory of the Gambler's Book Shop that's in Las Vegas. 2. Provide some real customer service. Computerize your data base so when a repeat customer calls in to place an order, you don't treat him like a total stranger and make him repeat all of his shipping information. 3. Get a knowledgeable staff and then give them some customer service training. Put in enough phone lines so that when a customer calls, your knowledgeable staff person can actually take a minute to talk with them about the book, software, DVD or equipment that best meets their needs. 4. Go to the Gamblers General Store in Vegas, look at their inventory and then stock the top 20% of their best selling items. Provide good customer service and same day shipping. You're welcome, Irish Mike "ben carr" <up-high@webtv.net > wrote in message news:15096-457E5786-1105@storefull-3357.bay.webtv.net... >I didnt mean to be rude either, but a poker store just isnt a good idea. > Maybe having a store with a corner of poker would work? >

Irish Mike is right, but I have an even better idea. Buy the Gambler's Book Shop in Vegas. I read recently, in the Vegas newspaper from RGP link??, that it's for sale. I currently own a chain of retail poker stores. Its called "I want to go broke on a bad investment" inc. Look for one in your area soon. We sell cards, tables, books, magazines, chairs and little plastic figurines of phil hellmuth. No, we dont sell chips as they may be misconstrued as a form of money and we dont need any government harassment happening.
