Triple draw is like crack! Probably beginners luck but I killed tonight!

Does anyone know where live NL games can be played? Or is it mostly limit?

Only Limit live... maybe eventually they will spread PL (not sure that NL
would work with good players).

Pot limit would work with triple draw.

I touched on this in another thread, but played PL (or NL), the game plays
poorly since a pot-sized bet from a pat hand prices out any draw.

There is a world of difference between playing a single draw game as no
limit and playing a triple draw game.

Yes, but that is one draw, not 3.

It's funny - I was just about to post something almost identical after playing
A-5 triple draw last night for the first time on UB. Out of 16,000 players
there were only about 8 players circulating in a 2-4 limit game. Great thing
was it turned out only one of the players had much experience with the game so
the little bit I gleaned from skimming through Negreanu's chapter on SS2 while
sitting on the pot was enough to let me double my money in 2 hours. Went to bed
wanting to get up and play some more today but now there's not a single player
on UB.

Like Dan, I'm wondering how much of it was beginner's luck (reverse doom switch
maybe?) or if it was just the other players were even more clueless than I was.
I would really like to see some more strategy discussions. At first, it seemed
to me that position and starting hands seem to be more important than in hold
em. Then I realized it's probably just because all of the players on the table
were newbies like me and nobody was really doing any bluffing and it was kind of
like no fold em hold em where everyone kept drawing to the bitter end. Whatever
the case may be, it was certainly a refreshing change from hold em, and I hope
FT starts to spread it too.

No limit on PokerStars, I think.

My experience is to deny whatever grandiose bullshit you feel after a
first session that turns out good. This is a lesson I have learned over
the years.

At least in my case, when I lose on my first time out at a new
game/venue/whatever, it's just like any other session. Maybe I'll come
back, maybe not.

But when I WIN, it's psychological poison. "Oh, wow. I can't believe I
wasted my time at ____ for so long. I've found the game I can beat, I'm
going to make so much money, yes, this is IT."

Never trust that first-time euphoria. The cards like to wait until
you're nice and comfortable, and then they bite you in the ass.
