Anyone here ever watch this? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0428174/ Was wondering
if it's worth picking up on DVD at all. Same writer as Rounders...although I
wasn't terribly wild about that, it did keep me marginally interested...um...

Anyways, yeah, please let me know if you've watched it and what you think of it.

Thanks.

The show is ok enough to watch all the way through once. Don't watch
repeats. The main story arc and ending isn't all that good, but I do like
the subplots they kept going with. The poker action is inconsistent, both
good and bad. Michael Madsen and Eddie Cibrian were well as the bad guy/good
guy. Everyone else is easily replaceable. Cameos were hilarious. Come on, TJ
Cloutier and Negraneu together?

As for the blonde lead Kristin Lehman, she's going to have a pilot episode
showing sometime next April on Fox called Drive. Think 24 meets Cannonball
Run about an illegal cross country road race in real timeish action. So
you'll get another shot at figuring out if you like her.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

..'24' meets 'Cannonball Run'... that's so genius... it also sounds a little
like Death Race 2000, which is one of the greatest cinematic achievements since
Abott and
Costello meet Frankenstien.

I have pretty low standards when it comes to tv/movies. If something
holds my interest, I generally watch it. I watched it, was a bit
disappointed there was no 2nd season, but also felt there wasn't much to
go on based on how the first season ended.

It was an average show. Acting was about average for tv dramas, story
line was average, there weren't any good plot twists or anything, but it
held my attention from beginning to end.

Yeah, that is about how I felt about it. I think the only reason I
watched it week after week was because I just couldn't decide whether
the lead blond actress was extra hot or a two bagger dog. I kept
thinking that I would be able to decide with one more look. Kind of
like that auburn haired freckled girl on Battle Star Galactica or
whatever it was called.

The thing is that I watched one episode when they did the rerun the
following year and I suddenly realized it was complete crap. Still
undecided about the blond though.

I didn't think it was "awful", but it was pretty bad. The biggest problem I
had was the basic premise. Which was that the Directors of a multi-billion
dollar Las Vegas casino are going to risk every thing, including prison, to
help some sleaze bag poker cheat. That just never made sense to me.

Funny isn't it? It was basically the EXACT duplicate of the Famous
Cheating Tapes, now on DVD that John Martino, Bill Nirdlinger and I
made with Mike Caro on May 10,2001 and June 9th 2001.

Is it any wonder the poker world wouldn't want the REAL STORY, even in
a fictional manner presented on TV?

It was really bad.  It might not be worth getting it as a gift.

Basically, TILT was like a fictional version of the REAL POKER WORLD.
The Matador was a compilation of Doyle Brunson and Chip Reese. The head
of the casino was Bobby Baldwin, with the head of the poker room, Doug
Dalton.

Though people may not tlike it, it's the way HIGH STAKES POKER is
played.

It was truly awful. ESPN abandoned it after a single rerun of the first
episode. Junk.
