With such a broad scope of characters I think we would have a dandy
time. Maybe we could plan for something in Nebraska sometime around
the Fourth of July. That way we could celebrate Independence Day. If
you aren't from this country, and by this I mean the good ol' USA, you
could see how much fun the Fourth really can be.

Why the hell do they even have MARGE, FARGO, and ATLARGE. Every single
ARG event should be in Vegas.

It only makes sense for about a billion reasons including costs,
availability, entertainment, and most importantly comps.

Not everyone can jetset it over to Vegas. I think the different events in diff
parts of the country make perfect sense. Although, I will admit the least one
being ESCARGOT....in LA? 5 hours from Vegas? Um, yeah, I'd rather Vegas, but
still....it gives one a chance to experience the card rooms in LA.

I was thinking about this, because as someone who travels a lot, the
sickest I've been in the last five years came during my two trips to
the LA card rooms. They've got some hellacious bugs floating around
those card rooms is all I can say.

Some of us, for reasons of paperwork errors by law enforcement, have found it a
good idea to avoid certain states.

For some of us,  it more recently has been a good idea to avoid airports because
a rational reaction to idiots employed by TSA can get you arrested.

This group would be arrested immediately, just on suspicion, the first
time any person in a position of authority wearing a uniform laid eyes on
it, and I wouldn't blame them.

When I was a baby my daddy was in the sesmiograph business, drilling holes and
blowing 'em up for purposes of looking for oil.  We moved a lot, throughout the
midwest.

From 1948 to 1953 we lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, South Dakota, North
Dakota, Montano, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.  We never spent the
night in Nebraska.  I always assumed there was a reason for that.

How about January, MLK weekend at the Bicycle Club in Bell Gardens (Los Angeles

Not trying to do any parade pooping, here, but if you want a bunch of
degenerate gamblers and poker players to get together for fun and laughs,
Nebraska is probably not high up on the list of "choice locations" :)

Maybe you should think VEGAS!

LOL. Nebraska's a fine state and Omaha has some of the best

I'm just a transplant to Iowa, I'm basically a Nebraska girl. I've
lived in Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota,

guy at the poker table one night:

Him: So, how do you like Spokane?
Me: I love it here, it's beautiful and the people are really friendly.
Him: Where you from, anyway?
Me: All over the midwest, but mostly Nebraska.

Every once in a while I'll see an ad for "Vacation in Nebraska" on Oklahoma TV.
So, I'm guessing Nebraska isn't real far from Oklahoma, although I'm not sure
about that.

One thing I did learn from that ad is that Nebraska has at least one tree and
probably two large rocks.

But is Omaha a place?  Where is it?

Hey, Omaha ain't no sleepy little cowtown anymore. It's like fukking
L.A. I know, cause I have to drive around the son of a bitch every time
on the way to Vegas. While the rest of you weren't noticing, or paying
attention, they, or someone, was adding streets, lights, eight-lane
super-bypass highways, airports, Super 8's, Comfort Inns, and all that
shit. At night, which is the time I get there, it's like the F'ng lights
of Los Angeles spread out about a zillion miles and it takes forever to
drive around the sumbitch.
And Denver ain't nothing to sneeze at either. About forty miles
outside of town the traffic starts to pick up: cars, semi’s, delivery
trucks, campers, SUV’s, motor-homes, being sucked toward it like a big
magnet-- highway gridlock. Just like Omaha large subdivisions of tract
housing all over the place on the outskirts and the ten-lane is funneling
all these C********* toward the Denver monolith. In the distance tall
buildings, faint blue outlines of skyscrapers. That's before you turn on
highway 70. Make fun of these places at your peril-- they been building
these places up when you weren't looking.
And btw, don't ever go to Kansas City.

Signed,
An angry motorist

I was surprised when I first visited Oklahoma.  About 80% of the state is
hills.  All those wheat feilds are in the far west part of the state, mostly the
panhandle.

Go to the dead center of bumfuck nowhere and hang a right.
You'll spot Omaha pretty quickly.

Here's my story about Omaha. I'm visiting my mother, who moved
there recently. It's my first time there, and I arrive late
on Friday night. Saturday afternoon mom, her new husband
and I go to a play, then out to dinner. We stop for ice
cream afterward.

So we walk into this cute little ice cream shop in some sort
of quaint neighborhood whose name I forget. We're deciding
what to order and the cashier looks at me. "Did you see the
Graduate this afternoon?"

Less than 24 hours in town, and I'm already being recognized.
Now, I'll grant you that there probably aren't many women
with fuchsia hair in Nebraska, but still. I could never live
there, 'cause I could never get away with anything.

Oh, yeah. A few weeks ago, I let her talk me into violating
one of my principal rules of sushi: do not eat sushi anywhere
that you can't drive to an ocean in less than an hour. It
was mostly good except for the cornhuskers roll: sirloin and
cream cheese. That's just profoundly wrong.

Why the fuck would anyone go to Nebraska?

Try ESCARGOT in LA in January, ATLARGE in Atlantic City in FEbruary,
MARGE will be revived this year in April, BARGE in Las Vegas in August
or FARGO at Foxwoods in SEptember.
