Subject: Potential Pro's, don't move to Los Angeles to play

Until now, I always stated it's best to play in Los Angeles if you're a pro. The reason, more games and a higher volume of mid level games. Games where pro's can earn $500 a day and more easily. However, things have now changed. Vegas, due to the current poker boom is a better venue to play. The reason, the quality of play, or the quality of the players. Basically, the pro's are fairly comparable, however, the other players are not. Vegas these days has more tourists than ever playing poker, games where they can lose $1,000s, something that wasn't available until the last couple of years. Los Angeles does also, but, Los Angeles really doesn't have the same type of tourist action. Los Angeles games are full of pro's and regulars, with the occasional tourist. If you were to rate the weak players in Los Angeles, you'd find they are far more advanced than the tourists in Vegas. The reason, they are regular players who lose, as opposed to the tourists in Vegas who seldom play in casino's. This is the reason pro's from each area have always had problems adjusting to the games. On a whole, California games are far stronger than Vegas games. Russ Georgiev www.pokermafia.com

During that period, close to all of Nevada players moved to LA, including Chip and Doyle, who opened a card casino in Oceanside, with Doug Dalton as manager. Dealers were making $500 a day and up, some even averaging $1,000. Russ Georgiev www.pokermafia.com > > -Paul

Part of the reason is most players in L.A. don't drink when the play, but all the tourists in vegas are blotto. > > -Paul ---- : the next generation of web-newsreaders : http://www.recgroups.com

All of the United States who played poker headed for California. The games were beyond any played anywhere in the world. The money was basically being handed out. YET, so many of these 'know it alls' attack the first post where I stated to move to Vegas to play these days, not LA. I also gave the reason. Vegas, has now become the LA of 20 years ago. It's really good getting information from players who probably weren't able to get into casino's during that period because you had to be 21. How the hell would they know? Most players then would not let go of A2 even if it floped a 2. I cant tell you how many times I saw people raise with a bad A2 or call two bets with 2 pair or set when a flush was on board _______________________________________________________________ Your Online Poker Community - http://www.recpoker.com
