Has anyone played on these tables and if so, what'ya think?
It sounds cool enough......faster, no tipping the dealer, no mistakes, etc....

Going to LA in a few weeks and was thinking about checking it out at Hollywood
Park.
Thanks.....Alydom

I played on one of the first units (beta test sort-of) even before they
were
released to the public. This was at Antonio's house last summer with
Jennifer
and Phil and some others.
It was fun and would be great for your game room (if you could afford
one).
But I'm not sure that I would play for any serious $$$ at one.
Good luck on your trip.
Tony

There is a thread on these tables at Hollywood Park over on gay+gay.

The OP is Rick Nebiolo who used to post here quite frequently, the floorman @ HP
also responds in the thread.
They talk about the play, comp system, you might be interested.

Hope this helps

They put a few of these into the Tampa Hard Rock almost a year ago. When
first put in, they were used for cash games. The "pros" are that the games
go very fast; dealing is almost instantaneous; no dealer so no dealer delays
for verifying the well at dealer changes; no one needing to buy more chips
from dealer, etc; no one can act out of turn or bet wrong amount because
your screen isn't active until it's your turn; so if you like to maximize
number of hand per hour, the machines are great.
However, once people tried them, no one wanted to play on them for live
games. They would sit empty while there was a long waiting list for live
tables. The main complaint was that the "social" aspect of the live game
was gone. Each person just looks down at their individual screen, waiting
for it to light up at their turn. You would hear many people say "I can
play like this at home" or "no need to drive to the casino to play on a
computer". So the casino discontinued the live cash games, and now uses
them only for their lowest buy in SNGs. They seem popular enough for those.

I dont like the idea of the automatic poker table. I would, however,
like an automatic chip machine. Just a electronic device that keeps
track of the money instead of using chips.
