PS, 200 Table hrs in, winning 6 big bets/hr average...

Should I move up? Not enough hrs yet? If I moved up to .25/.50, what
would the suggested bankroll be? Is the competition pretty much the
same?

I know these are low limits, but you have to start somewhere!

Thanks!

Assuming 60 hands per hour, you have played 12k hands so far.  Not quite enough
of a sample size but probably enough to give you some confidence to move up. You
need 30 maximum buy ins to move up to the next level. You can get by with 2/3 of
that if you are willing to step down if you take a hit.

Yes, you should move up. About $150 should be enough. The competition
is a bit tougher but solid poker is enough to win. Don't think that
because you can crush a lower level, you are a great player, and
you'll be fine.

$150 playing 25c/50c NL? Where do you get this stuff?

All depends on what your goal is, and how able you are to replenish your
bankroll if you go broke. Let's say you had $500 as your bankroll, but
you know that if you go broke, you could easily put another $500 on. This
is much more different than if you had $500 and no matter what had no way
to deposit if you went broke.

As far as skill, there won't be much skill difference moving up to
25c/50c, depending on a number of things, sites, etc. You'll see a skill
difference moving up to 50c/1, but as I've found out, that will drop off
at 1/2 slightly.

Bottom line, if you feel comfortable playing 25c/50c and can beat it, do
it. If you feel comfortable playing any level and want to take a shot at
50c/1 or higher, do it.

I certainly wouldn't live by a hard fast guideline of something absurd
like 30 max buyins per level though. That's pretty much overkill. If you
want a limit, make it 10-15, but it all really depends on some of the
things above.

What's a maximum buyin? If you're a winning player, 300BB will keep
you from ruin.

While that's a great book answer, 300BB is considered a good number for
limit holdem. The OP was talking NL tables. Maximum buyin refers to
buyin per level. For example, the max buyin at a 50c/1 table is $100.
