out....not too far awat from the money. My AK ran into KK...big stack min raise UTG, I pushed with AK from MP(36k, blinds 1200/2400, ante 240), bricks all the way. What is it about AK running into AA/KKs? Well, at least I am still the official RPG LL champ...which is a lot better than winning the damn tourney...:-) _______________________________________________________________ Watch Lists, Block Lists, Favorites - http://www.recpoker.com

The call actually made more sense than it looks....this was the second hand...the very first hand I laid-down AJ suited to his 5bb preflop raise. He picked up a caller at the button, and massively overbet a rags, rainbow flop and the button mucked. He raised 5bb coming in again, (blinds 20/40, stacks 10K)...bet 1K on a flop 335 2 suited flop, I reraised to 4K....he jammed. I had him reading Russ too much with the overbet lark, and put him on two overcards at best, with maybe a small possiblity of a flush draw as well....With half of my stack in the middle, I took the chance, closed my eyres and call...and he showed Q7 off...:) > Honest_Nick: 22620 > Qdog223: 12980 > > And Mistcat (me), doing my impression of the Rock of Gibraltar: 10020. _______________________________________________________________ Block Lists, Favorites, and more - http://www.recpoker.com

> I had him reading Russ too much with the overbet lark Did you even watch _AQUA_ last spring? You realize he crushed the site right? _AQUA_ won more money in 1 month than you have won since you started playing online poker, and I'm making a big assumption saying your a winning player. To be a winning player you must have done some work on some other sites, because playing $200 sng's on party poker, you are down big (FYI - You were probably cheated by someone in most of those $200 sng's). When Russ says "Either you're going to make a big bet so if he calls you win a lot of chips, or you're going to make a big bet so he folds, either way you're going to have to make a big bet". You don't have a CLUE what he's talking about. He is not talking about overbetting a flop, or even the turn, he is talking about a river bet with positon, when the pot is already large, and he knows right where he is in the hand. He knows if a big bet to steal, or a big bet to punish is needed. When you post things like "This is poor poker because you will only be called by hands that beat you." You are missing the whole point of Russ' 'big bet' statement. Bryan _______________________________________________________________ New Feature: Mark All As Read! - http://www.recpoker.com

I would love to know how being a losing or near break even player qualifies you to critique Russ on any of his strategy post or comments. "Folding JJ here even though you know you are beat is a losing play" It wasn't a losing fold, it was a WINNING fold. You FOOLS and your 'implied odds' leave me shaking my head every time. You shouldn't even look at your cards and just call every raise if you think you can bust someone every time you hit the flop. "By always making big bets, you will only be called by hands that beat you" How about going back and reading the whole post before making a comment? You would see that this 'big bet' statement was meant for the end of a hand. It may have even been in the pot limit form of hold'em, I don't recall. The only reply you should ever give to one of Russ' poker strategy related post is.... "Thank you for the free information Russ, I know I should be paying you for this."
