Subject: OT: -ev not believing in the green suits

With AKh you raise to 4xBB UTG and next hand smooth calls; other players are
obviously anxious to get in the hand.

The flop comes AsAdKc and you bet out the pot and next hand raises to put
you all in.

You don't like the guy so you sneer and show him your hand when it is passed
to you. "You're a dumbshit loser," you say.

A true believer spectator says to you, "calling here is -EV, infidel. It's
going to cost you everything when you find out that there are two green-suit
aces and four aces beat your aces full. Hey, there's only 44 big bets in
the pot and you have to call 132. Gonna serve you right, too, not believing
in the green suits."

So, naturally, you fold. Such depth of sincerity is obviously something to
be taken very seriously. And having heard that even Doyle and Chip and gang
have lost sometimes is certainly reason enough by itself to know that
something supernatural is at work. Gotta be green suits showing up sometimes
to screw up the works.

Is there something I should have read before this post to understand
it?

Thanks for responding to CH.

Bellsouth continues to miss a bunch of ng posts, and in this case I'd never
have seen his post.

One of the green suits is apparently hippogriffs. It comes from a bridge
story I heard decades ago.

The side playing against Satan, who is on lead, happily and voluntarily
reaches a 7NT doubled and re-doubled contract, holding 4 aces, 4 kings, 4
queens, 4 tens, 4 nines, and 2 8s.

The Devil leads the deuce of hippogriffs, which holds. 12 more hippogriff
leads hold.
