One gospel says the little family returned to Nazareth, another that they
fled to Egypt.

Either no one noticed, of no one thought it worth mentioning,not even the
chroniclers of the time!

two different people giving an account of an event,one omitted the
sojourn in egypt,the other didn't.when they returned from egypt the
lived in nazareth.i believe luke tells of the temple ceremonies after
his birth matthew doesn't.
