What movies, when you're just surfing around the channels with your remote, that
when you stop at a channel that is showing that movie, makes you end up watching
it to the end? Jaws always does it for me.

Apocalypse Now was on some channel tonight, but I think it was edited for
whatever. And I own it, so watching it with commercials is pointless.

My alltime favorite is Dr. Strangelove and I will interrupt most anything to
watch it.

Anything where the Titanic sinks. Especially A Night to Remember. And
"Titanic" when Robert Wagner is trying to pick up a chick, sings the Cornell
anthem, and the boat then hits the 'berg. Priceless.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (My all time fav movie)
Sixteen Candles
Breakfast Club (These two take you back to the day...)
Star Wars (any of the 3 originals)
Dirty Harry (any of them, I love Clint!!)
Selena (I don't know why, I never liked her music....)

All I could think of right now.

I have had Ferris on my box many dozen times. Often w/o intent to really
watch closely, but it tends to grab me anyway.

I don't know why, I can't identify with anyone or anything in the flic.

And so, we may agree, if there is one Hollywood person we'd like to talk
with for hours and hours, it would be ...

John Hughes!

(although I am not nearly as big n Candles and Club as you are, ditto of
Pink)

I much prefer the original Thing, Them, Day.

Fresh can grab me. Talk about David and a whole tribe of Goliaths!

Hmmm. In some ways the young Fresh is much like Ferris, but without all
the charm, ALL of the charm, and with none of Ferris' advantages. Fresh
gets it done where Ferris would be at sea, without even a paddle as a float.

T,

Here in Chicago, there is a festival held every summer called Venetian
Night. Best fireworks of the year outoding even July 4th. One of the cool
things that happens is there is a boat parade around one of the many
harbours here. People decorate their huge boats using various themes that
are so incredible, they must literally spend DAYS decorating and $1000's
of dollars. Lights, music, decks crowded with dancers, it really is an
awesome sight.

The first time I went I was blown away by the enormous boats floating
around all decorated to the GILLS. One boat stood out from the rest tho.
It was a simple one person inflatable dingy, with a single hang over the
back engine sputtering like it was going to die any second. The only thing
his boat had was a lit up blinking banner that read:

Save Ferris.

You have never heard cheering like this guy received as he passed the
crowd. It was insane.

You've got to be kidding. When I saw the first few minutes of that movie
(and only the first few minutes before I turned it off) I thought that if I
were giving Jay and Silent Bob a ride somewhere I would find a way to ditch
them.

As far as movies go, if I like a movie that much I get it on DVD. I
recently watched "Silverado" on DVD. A great movie. I don't usually like
Westerns, but this is an excellent movie. My wife came up with a long list
when I mentioned this thread:

African Queen
Key Largo
Jaws
Rebecca
Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind
Stalag 17
Raiders of the Lost Ark (the 1st one, the 2nd one sucked, the 3rd one was
pretty good)
The Cheyenne Social Club
Medicine Man

Fred.

I had never watched it until I got HD, because it didn't interest me.
Now that I've watched it it is very good and the scenery in HD is
fantastic.

Casino,The Godfather (maybe not to the end) and Goodfellas. And since we're
talking about the mob (lol) Doyle was quoted in "the biggest game in town" as
saying he wasnt even sure if organised crime existed..............now where have
you heard that before? And this from a guy who lived in Vegas since the early
70's.

Hoosiers

I've seen it umpteen times and it's nowhere close to my favorite movie,
but for some reason when I click on it I just can't pass it up.

What movie doesn't? I would much rather watch a movie then half the crap on TV.
Half the time i already own the movie so I just go grab it off the shelf and pop
it in. I would rather it that way the cut for time, edited for TV and divided up
by commercials.

lol I have more selection then Blockbuster, I look for stuff that wasn't just a
top hit. I have to save good for them for creating a section dedicated for
festival movies. I found some great ones there.

I thought i answered by saying "what movie doesn't?" But if you want a list then
look at http://www.themovienetwork.ca/ chances are that is what is on my TV.

not really that concerned.  Just thought you might want to join the thread,
instead you insist on being pretentious.  I am sure you own more movies than
blockbuster and I am sure you have  the time to watch them aswell. :)

lol never said i own more i said I have more variety. I never claimed to have
the time to watch them all either. More and more I am finding movies i haven\'t
seen in a long time and rewatching them.

I wouldn\'t want to come off pretentious.

Since you asked so nicely here is a list of the top that I will stop for then
here but most of them do not get much TV play.

Ghostbusters
Rounders
Raiders of the lost ark
Star Wars
Star Trek
National Lampoons vacation series
My Cousin Vinny
Caddyshack
There\'s Something about Mary
Hackers
Indepenance Day
Enemy of the state
Space Jam
Dark Wolf
Moeny Pit
The man with one red shoe
Cloak and Dagger
Goonies

I have watched the movie several times, and even bought it at yard sales a
number of times, forgetting I already had.

I like it much more than I liked the 'hero' or Fisher's villain.

And not because of Angelina before she was ANGELINA!

I think it was a solid movie all around. I do get a kick out of it when they are
listing the stats of the laptop in Burn's room "It's got a 28.8 BPS modem" "RISC
is going to change everything"

Up side was Angelina in Crash's sex dream.

Check out Foxfire for another hidden gem staring Angelina

"Hank's" house was the house of a lady I was very very sweet on, but got
only enthusiastic friendly hugs for old granddad.

One of my favourites.

I see nobody followed up on my mention of Two Lane Blacktop, so
I'll mention it again.

A new fav that I just saw for the first time: "After the Sunset". If
you are a Salma Hayek fan/luster, it's great! Even better than her
stripper scene in Dogma.
