Subject: OT: I Hate the Holidays

I hate the holidays. There. I said it. I must be a bad person.
Thanksgiving until January 1 has always been a difficult time for me. Several
close people have died during the Holidays: Friends, mother, gfandmother, etc. I
have been very sick and hospitalized during this time of the year at least
twice. My New Years Eve parties were always busts. (I broke up with a
girlfriend of three years on New Years Eve.) I hate winter. And I hate the short
days. My favorite day of the Holidays, therefore, was always January 2.
Fortunately with young kids, I've rediscovered the spirit of the Holidays. At
least my kids still enjoy the magic of the season.
So I hope everyone has a healthy, profitable, and happy Holiday Season. Here's

Couldnt' agree with any more, but now that I have a 3 yr old, its taken on new
meaning for me. Yes it's all bullshit, but I see the excitement that my kid has
with all the lights. He's sooooo excited and is still at the same time scared
as shit of the talk of Santa. So mebbe, just mebbe it's the fun of it
all...........let's all just drink some beers and JD, Makers, and whatever cures

Why is everyone's first idea to celebrate/cure/forget anything is to grab
an addicting drug?
