I'm glad it happened at the .02/.04 - I play with him on the
.10/.20 tables too, I would have lost a hell of a lot more on
that hand had it came up on the other tables! I wonder if
he was able to get any sleep with that horseshoe stuck
up his ass ;-) I'll have to ask him when I see him again.

Why would I put someone on pocket fives???
I wasn't calling out what I believed he had... I was
claiming 5's for myself so that if a 5 hit the flop I
could represent (had every intention of playing fast
if either a 5 or 7 hit the board, I caught both! ;-)
When I saw both the 5 and 7 on the board, my
immediate thought was f**k, I should have said 6s
as I was afraid I might not get action. Luckily for
me (or unluckily if you're results oriented) I was
still able to get someone to put a lot of money
into the pot while I was a big favorite in the hand.

Of course you were correct to call a 16X raise when your hand couldn't be good!

He will overvalue his overpair for sure, so when you hit your set you will more

To be honest, I thought it was good preflop ;-) 16X was a standard raise on
that
table (ham was pushing all-in every other hand and the only time he wouldn't
push
preflop was when someone raised big in front of him) and I wasn't expecting to
see
any strength from skid (who was calling all-in bets from ham with any 2 and
pairing
which is how he built his stack!) I thought I was charging a flush draw and
was
happy to see a QQ after skid called! That is until the turn at which point I
would
have had the flush drawing dead... but still, he only had 2 outs with 1 card
to come
so I wasn't concerned ;-)

Luckily for me, they didn't stop playing their hyper-aggressive styles.
After reloading I won a few small pots and proceeded to stack off ham
(for about 11 bucks) to break even for the session. Then I headed off to
Stars (finally downloaded the client and made my first deposit yesterday)
and made a few bucks there before finally calling it a night.

Yes, Russ knows everything, and calling for about 10% of your stack multihanded
on a very loose table with poor players is the same as pushing it all in with 77
preflop.

My bad...I did...I thought 77 called a pushed preflop....but that's the type of
hand that shows why its good to take a flop if the implied odds are there, and
the table is loose enough.
