[Gank just sat down but isn't involved in this hand.] PokerStars Game #7523792546: Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball Limit ($30/$60) - 2006/12/20 - 06:28:25 (ET) Table 'Velleda' 6-max Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: davemn1969 ($4267 in chips) Seat 2: starfish1 ($2095 in chips) Seat 3: gank ($1110 in chips) Seat 4: sheckler ($2562 in chips) Seat 6: double joker ($952 in chips) double joker: posts small blind $15 davemn1969: posts big blind $30 *** DEALING HANDS *** starfish1: raises $30 to $60 gank: folds sheckler: raises $30 to $90 double joker: raises $30 to $120 Betting is capped davemn1969: folds starfish1: calls $60 sheckler: calls $30 *** FIRST DRAW *** double joker: discards 1 card starfish1: stands pat [I'm putting starfish1 on a 9 or something of the sort, perhaps with a smooth redraw, because of the later action.] sheckler: discards 1 card double joker: checks starfish1: bets $30 sheckler: raises $30 to $60 double joker: calls $60 starfish1: calls $30 *** SECOND DRAW *** double joker: discards 1 card starfish1: discards 1 card [He breaks whatever he had, because of the raise and the call of the double raise. Was that cold call probably a bad move? Should starfish have raised to drive out the cold caller? Hard to know since we don't see anyone's hand.] sheckler: stands pat [This isn't very surprising.] double joker: checks starfish1: checks sheckler: bets $60 double joker: calls $60 davemn1969 leaves the table starfish1: calls $60 [Is calling to be one of two people trying to outdraw a pat hand often good? I'd assume he's got a good draw to a wheel here, but probably so does the cold caller.] *** THIRD DRAW *** double joker: discards 1 card starfish1: discards 1 card sheckler: stands pat double joker: checks starfish1: checks sheckler: bets $60 double joker: folds starfish1: folds sheckler collected $748 from pot sheckler: doesn't show hand *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $750

A 9 with a wheel draw is about the worst hand possible here. I think a pat 8 is more likely. > sheckler: discards 1 card This is a little wider, and coule be any 7 draw, and possibly an 85 or 86 draw. > double joker: checks > starfish1: bets $30 > sheckler: raises $30 to $60 > double joker: calls $60 > starfish1: calls $30 > *** SECOND DRAW *** > double joker: discards 1 card > starfish1: discards 1 card > > [He breaks whatever he had, because of the > raise and the call of the double raise. Hard to know > since we don't see anyone's hand.] Seems that he has an 87 or worse, and knew that sheckler wouldn;t have raised unless he hit. Me? I raise here to try to force out the other draw and represent a made hand :) > sheckler: stands pat > > [This isn't very surprising.] At the higher limits, he would draw 1 here a good percentage of the time I think. > double joker: checks > starfish1: checks > sheckler: bets $60 > double joker: calls $60 > davemn1969 leaves the table > starfish1: calls $60 > > [Is calling to be one of two people trying to > outdraw a pat hand often good? I'd assume he's > got a good draw to a wheel here, but probably > so does the cold caller.] The pot is absolutely massive. Assuming that he has a wheel draw, he is getting 14:1 on the call, and even if he has just 3 outs (eg 7532x with one 4 dead), then he is correct to call on the wheel draw alone. Yes, it is possible that he makes the wheel and ties, but it is also possible that a 6 wins it. > *** THIRD DRAW *** > double joker: discards 1 card > starfish1: discards 1 card > sheckler: stands pat > double joker: checks > starfish1: checks > sheckler: bets $60 > double joker: folds > starfish1: folds > sheckler collected $748 from pot > sheckler: doesn't show hand They must have both missed badly (not surprising, given the number of dead wheel cards). > *** SUMMARY *** > Total pot $750

What's a "smooth redraw?" > [Is calling to be one of two people trying to > outdraw a pat hand often good?
