Subject: Greg Raymer: Libertarian Vice President

This is from an interview conducted by Bernard Chapin that appeared on
pokernews.com:

BC: Also, are you thinking of becoming a politician? If so, what kind of
office do you desire? What types of positions would you support?

GR: In many ways, I would not make a good politician, at least not the
way the business of politics presently works in our country. I am not
very good at compromising. If you convince me you are right, I will
agree with you, but until you do, I will do what I think is the smartest
thing to do. Having said that, I am currently talking to some people who
run the Libertarian Party about the possibility of running to be the
party's official candidate for Vice President of the United States. With
a few exceptions, I would support the official planks of the Libertarian
Party.

In other words, the organized Libertarian Party needs a huge CASH infusion
and is looking to someone who is well known, well liked, has a big bankroll,
and his backers have a MEGA BANKROLL. To my friends that own and control

I believe I endorsed Mr Raymer for President in this newgroup on October 2nd
of this year. I would not like to see him settle for the VP slot. America
needs smart poker savvy leadership, Greg Raymer for President.

I'm registered as a Libertarian and would gladly support Greg's candidacy
for Vice-President.

VP run is a mistake, he needs to run for President. Who in the Libertarian
party has more name recognition than Greg?

Not saying I wouldn't vote for Greg. But I would need to know a lot more
of his thoughts on the issues (other than poker) than merely stating he is
a libertarian.

Ron Paul, even if he calls himself a Republican.

You would support him without hearing his views on Iraq, Iran,
Terrorism, Poverty, Housing costs, Israel, Unemployment, Abortion, or
Taxes?

Just because somebody runs with a particular party doesn't mean that you
know his own personal views on all matters. Don't you think that
knowing those views is important before supporting somebody for a
position that is basically one bullet away from the leader of the free
world?

I support the majority of Libertarian positions. Greg said he would support
that same platform, so I think I have a decent take on his beliefs.

Raymer for VP! I would love to see the Libertarian Party get 2% of the
national vote...it would easily throw a close election to the Democrats!
