Subject: Felt for a Homemade Poker Table
I am getting ready to build my own poker table and was wondering if there
is a special felt that I need. I went to my local fabrics store and they
sell felt but it didn't seem that high quality. Any ideas, comments
greatly appreciated.

Pool table cloth makes a good surface. Real felt, isn't whats used for
poker table surfaces.

i bought some 2.50 a yard felt from wal-mart for mine. Its real heavy and
looks great. the only downside is i have one deck of Casino cards taht have
boxed corners and not rounded. they get caught when you're dealing
everyonce in a while.

I have used several different types of felt, and I have found the best
results to be from the offical stuff available at casinosupply.com and
gamblersgeneralstore.com It costs a little more, but I think it is well
worth it. They also sell the padding to put beneth the cloth.

YOu need a Green Sheet like fabaric, not felt, my buddy has a felt one, the
fuzz balls up and the cards don't slide well. There is a foam pad under the
table that gives the feeling of real felt. Stay away from real felt. just go
with any kinda fabric that won't have fuzz balls.

Go to fabric store and buy sport nylon. Your color of choice. This is what my
poker table has on it. Cards slide VERY easily and it has lasted for 8 years so
far. Put about 3/8 inch of foam under it and you will be very happy
