Subject: Expectations - STTs

I posted a question earlier re: expectations for STTs.

The answers I got talked about ROI - Return on Investment. How does this apply
to STTs?

For example:

If I entered 100 $20 SNGs with a $2 vig, total investment of $2200, what would
be the ROI if expected ROI were met?

if the expected ROI were 13%, would my expected winnings be $286?

a 13% ROI seems pretty low.

http://www.tourneytracker.net/ calculates all of this.

I heard that 20% is good for STT.

but 13% seems decent.  I have had steaks at 10% or lower and streaks of 30% or
higher but for me it seems to avg out around 20%

Yes, that's precisely right.

Some people can do a little bit better. Most will do significantly
worse than that. 13% is a perfectly respectable ROI for the
standard 5-3-2 SNG structure.

If your goal is to make significant money rather than just enjoying
yourself and making a small profit, then you need to play bigger
stakes. Remember, too, that you can multi-table these pretty
easily.

13% is actually close to standard. This works out to 2.86 ROI per tourney,
most STT's take about an hour. If you want to make more, then you either
need to move up in limits or multitable.

I presume those discussing ROI refer to positive return, that is,
return above
and beyond your invested principal. So 13% ROI would reflect winning
$2486,
for a profit of $286.

Actually, it's standard. If you want to make more dollars per hour you have to
move up to a higher buy-in STTs.
