It was bubble time to advance to round in this aussie millions freeroll ... 36 get in and 37 were left ... for quite a while in fact ... very slow hand for hand ... so I visited the table with the low stack 5800 and he just entered the 5000 BB ...so down to 800 ... 2 callers to him ...this could be it next hand ... then he raised 800 and they both bailed ...now he was up to 20K with the antes ... Seems like cheating to me ... How common is this ... ??? I mean if your not minh the master ...

Happens all the time. Its why the freeroll tournaments on PokerStars now have an ante in them at the higher levels. It used to be they didn't and the game went on a good hour to an hour and a half longer than they needed to

It's not uncommon. See my recent thread on getting owned and humiliated in a tourney. I was just giving an accurate analysis of the situation. A combination of factors led to my busting on the bubble of that tournament. One of the main factors was that one of the chip leaders in the tourney was dumping to the low stack in order put me out first and exact revenge for an earlier beat. The reason he was successful is that this was a tourney that paid out in seats, with all prizes being equal. His strategy was excellent to achieve his goal, and he succeeded. My strategy was poor, in that I knew what his strategy was and still couldn't (or didn't) out maneuver him. I very rarely get rattled in a poker game. I did and I suffered for it. I knew it effected me so I wrote the post to blow off steam, and took a few hours off. BTW, Zen and the Art of Poker is on the toilet tank top for serious bathroom visits. Most of the time I can live in the moment and retain focus. Unfortunately I have a chink in my armor, and it hasn't been going well lately anyway of late, which is why I am in the LL tourney instead of in a bigger game. I like to think I know when to pull back and regroup. A few hours time off and I was OK. Thanks for caring and your nice comments on my posts. :) thumbers on stars, dieseldyke on absolute/vegaspoker24/7 ----- looking for a better newsgroup-reader? - www.recgroups.com

It's a possible big stack strategy for bubble play. Keep a small stack in and steal from the medium stacks. On Dec 11 2006 11:05 PM, pokerchimp wrote: > It's not uncommon.
