I noticed something funny tonight sometimes when I type I mouth the words and
move my lips as I type them.  Not all but some.  I had never noticed I did that
before. I wonder now how many other people do that.

I've never done that. I think typing is like a second language. Once you
get good enough at it it is second nature. Do you hunt and peck Arlo, or
do you touch type?

Interesting. I wouldn't think you'd mouth the words then.

I have two autistic children, and we learned years ago something about the
way their brain works. Here is an experiement: think of "cat". What did
you think of? Did you imagine a cat you know? Did you imagine a generic
cat (but an image of a real one)? Did you imagine a stick drawing of a
cat? Did you imagine a cartoon (Garfield, for example)? Did you imagine
a mini movie with a cat in it? Did you imagine the word "cat"? This
helps explain how you think.

I see the word "cat" in lowercase black letters on a white background,
sort of near the top of my vision. My gf sees a movie of a particular cat
running and playing. I "think" in words, not pictures. My gf thinks in
pictures and movies (hence she has more of a photo graphic memory than I
do).

My autistic kids see every cat they've ever seen from first to last, in
order, until they are done.

I took a better look at it and it appears only when I am thinking of the
spelling of a word.  I really think it has more to do with what has happened to
control of my hands since my AS got real bad. Now one hand gets ahead of the
other sometimes.
Also
when I read the cat part the first cat that popped into my head was the cat in
my lap so not sure if that counted :)

You also mouth your cards when you read them. That's why you've been
losing.
