We had just gotten into the money after a little more

the one hand that's COST ME MORE FUCKING MONEY
THAN ANY OTHER FUCKING 2 CARD COMBINATION
I'LL PLAY! If you've read any of my HH in the past, you
probably already know what they are, but here they are

reallaw had been bumping my blind for the last 5 or 6 orbits
and I had been waiting for the perfect time to make him pay
for it... guess I should have known when I saw the QQ that
THIS WASN'T IT!!! I went from about 20th in chips, to 70th
place, out of the tournament. Oh well, was worth $71.40,
of which I had to pay Jacks $7.10 as we sold 10% to each
other (what happened to you btw? One minute you're there
next you're gone!) so $64.30 from a $3.30 investment, not
too bad. Had I doubled up on that hand however as I should
have, I'm pretty sure I could have made a nice dent on the
final table. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.
Oh well, wish me luck on Sunday ;-)

Stop right here If you are always loosing with a hand then stop playing it or
change your strategy.

Are you suggesting I fold QQ?

My strategy is to play it hard... yet the
last 2 times I've had them cracked by
88 and 82 (both HH posted).

Hmm... maybe I should always insta-fold the 3rd
best starting hand preflop... thanks for the tip.

Missed my point. If you are always loosing with it then something is wrong. The
folding idea was a halfassed atempt at humor. I was just trying to get you to
look at your play of QQ i was not trying to tell you to auto fold them.

Maybe the 88 and 82 were still there to crack you because you made it worth
their while to chase. Maybe you were playing with people that would call
anything.

Having a hand not stand up a couple times is not a good sample size. Any hand
can lose any time that is why there is not one starting hand that wins every
time.

QQ wins about 23% of the time from the start. This does not mean that if you
play it 100 times you will win 23 of them you could win any number of them.

In the example here you showed your strengh with a push preflop. Obviously this
guy valued his 88 as 1/3 of his chips. You were ahead when you got your money
in. Your got screwed by the deck.

No, I got it... but I don't think I'm playing the queens
improperly and I attribute it to normal variance of the game.
That being said, QQ happens to be my most expensive
hand and I do have second thoughts when I find them peeking
up at me. Had I had AA, KK, AK or any other 2 card
combination other than 89 I would have went broke on
this hand. Well, that's not true... had I found myself
with a weak ace or unpaired hole cards (my range in this
particular situation is pretty tight) I could have given up my
blind and stolen someone elses as I had been doing for
the last hour.

> The folding idea was a halfassed atempt at humor.

As was my response. ;-)

> I was just trying to get you to look at your play of

Would you have played that hand differently given the
situation? Being: Button (table leader) raised my blind
every orbit knowing that he had the one stack on the
table that I had to respect.

> Maybe the 88 and 82 were still there to crack you
> because you made it worth their while to chase.

Neither time... you saw the play here... the 82 was
a tilting high-roller causing havoc with any 2 on the
penny tables... I made up for that hand with a reload
and it was one of my better nights on the baby-stake
tables... ended up with $80 on an $8 max buyin table.
Unfortunately I couldn't make up for this one...

> Maybe you were playing with people that would call
> anything.

Obviously... not that I blame either one of them... I
blame the poker gods... and myself for not taking a
peek up their asses to check for the horseshoe
before putting my money into the pot ;-)

Maybe when up against AA, but I was 80% from
the start this hand... and 87% against the 82 ;-)
We're talking heads up situations in both cases,
I'm not up against 9 random hands, just 1 shitty
hand! ;-)

> This does not mean that if you
> play it 100 times you will win 23 of

See, there's the problem... when your screen-name
is Diputsur YOU CAN'T WIN ANY OF THEM!!! ;-)

> In the example here you showed your strengh with
> a push preflop. Obviously this guy valued his 88 as
> 1/3 of his chips.

1/2 of his chips... we would have traded stacks.
To be honest, I knew my range was much tighter
than his and knew my hand was favored over
whatever he raised with... I wanted the call, I was
happy for the call... the board was a letdown, but
that's poker... it happens. I've got 2 more shots
at big cashes on Sunday and may give the bounty
another shot in a week or two, I'm not dead yet ;-)

> You were ahead when you got your money
> in. Your got screwed by the deck.

That's how I usually go out ;-) When the deck
cooperates with me though, look out ;-)

btw: Thanks for turning my post into a thread...
it sucks being the ugly red-headed stepchild
of RGP... but I prefer to talk about poker rather
than bitch about personal problems to gain
attention, which makes me a minority here ;-)

Quick correction:
AK wouldn't have been a go broke hand... I would have
lost 4K (possibly 8 as I may have taken a stab after the
flop) but I don't go broke with it on that board.

Thanks for actually discussing things with me. I have posted a few BAHH on here
and any time you see one feel free to comment.

Do you play any sites other the Doyle's? I wouldn't mind playing a few people
that know what the are doing and will tell me where my holes are. I am thinking
Stars so I can play in  the RGP games.

Stars, FTP, Absolute, Mansion, Bodog, Poker.com
Diputsur on all of them, you can usually find me in
the baby-stake games as I play strictly for enjoyment.

If you can deal with the babystakes, I'm willing
to play with you. I'm not the person to look at
for a coach though... I'm still trying to learn the
intricacies of the game myself ;-)

Sounds good. i am going to sign up for stars so i can play a few RGP games. Look
for me with this name. I also play Paradise under this name and Poker in Canada
which is a Tiger skin under Chrispark

You will find me in the Mirco limits.

I am not looking for a coach but someone that has knowledge and can tell me all
my glaring errors.

Not that you played this hand badly, but do you always try to get all in
with QQ? If your only plan is to push with this hand then that is why
you do pooly with it.

No. If you look through RGP archives you can find a few
other QQ gems from me ;-) My oldest being against A4
on a board of AQ4. We got into a raising war on the flop
(bet, raise, re-raise, push) and he caught his two outer
on the turn ;-) I normally put in a healthy raise, but don't
frequently push with QQ.

Another question for you. Other that a flop with overcards on it, when
do you fold queens?

Always fold QQ preflop, except when in the BB, then you can check, and fold on
the flop unless you hit quads without an overcard on the board.

What was that about sarcasm? By the way, in the other thread I was
postulating KK, not QQ.
