Not a suck out in the true sense of the word....you were the big favourite when
the chips went in...I think suck outs are worked out on the basis of when the
chips went in, rather than the order of the cards....

One of my favourite pot, which I posted here...5/10 NL cash game I think...I had
A2 in the blinds...4 limpers...flop 225...I led out and UTG raised folded to me
and I called...Led out at turn of 7, UTG raised, I called.  I checked
the river which was a Q...UTG went all in....I hesitated before
calling...figuring him for 55/77, but was too far gone to fold.

He showed AA...was it a suck-out?  no, I had a free flop, and was always ahead
went the chips went in on every betting.  But it was piss-poor play by AA

Scary...

I played some live 3/6 limit (aka, bingo poker) at the Argosy KC yesterday and
got AA UTG.  I raise, ends up capped 5 ways pf....no good can ever come from
that.

flop comes 322 and at this point I know I'm in trouble, I check call the flop,
check call the turn (Q i believe) and bet out when a 3 comes on the river (heads
up by this point) and the 90year old biddy just calls and says to me " if you
hit your 3, good for you. " I show my AA, she shows her A2o....I almost said
"nice Bingo" but i figured the other old ladies at the table would beat me with
their canes and walkers

She said she put me on A3 suited.........Other quick BB vents to follow

After that, i remembered why I hate playing limit, especially that low limit
(only table open at the time)...in the span of an hour I got AA cracked twice
(the aformentioned A2o as well as by 82 sooooooted who chased THAT flush calling
3 bets cold...twice....before getting there on the river)
Had top set (JJJ) cracked by runner runner J high straight while holding, of all
things, the hammer.
Flopped broadway only to be run over by the RR FH....

sorry...i feel better now

WPS April 2006, St. Maartens, Final Table.

I think the action went that I moved all in with 77, and got called by QQ. Or he
moved all in and I called, not sure about the exact action.

Then Fellknight tells me, "I folded A7". (I still curse him for telling me that
at that moment....)

I pack up my purse and jacket when BAM, on the river, the one outer...7.

Ended up winning 1st.

Playing microstakes NL poker, I had K9. Flop came 9xx and I ended up in
an all-in against 99. Naturally, turn K, river K and I caught my 329-1
shot.

Limit hold'em I'm middle to late position , a couple limpers in front of
me, I have pocket 6s, I call. Button raises. Called around to me I call.

Flop 4 6 A (I can't recall suits, nor whether they played a part in the
hand)

Checked to me, I bet, button calls. Rest Fold.

Turn X. I bet, button raises, hmmmmmmmmm AA? AK? A4? AX? I re-raise,
button re-raises. Oh oh, pocket Aces. I make a crying call.

River case 6. I bet, button raises, I re-raise, button puts in final
raise, I call.

I show my four sixes, button shows Aces full of sixes and called me
something ********ed out on stars.

I type "bet that hurt", button leaves.

That's your best? A two outter?

A couple weeks ago I was down to the final two tables in a live tourney.
I have a bigger than average stack. I'm UTG with 99. I limp in, and it
folds all the way around to the BB, who checks. We see the flop of K88.
He bets like 2/3 of the pot. I put him on nothing, cause, well, I'm a
donkey. So....I push. He calls. BAAAAAD news for me as he has K9.
However, I hit my one outter right on the turn, then avoided him hitting
his two outter on the river, and he was out. He was stunned.

One time on Party I had AA and saw a flop with one other player of A2x. I
bet, he pushed, I of course called. He had 22. Turn was a 2 for his
quads, and river was an A for my quads. I 1 outtered his 1 outter. LOL

NL cash game on Stars, $25 max buy in, blinds .10/.25. UTG + 1 raises
to $1. Button calls and I call in the BB with pocket nines. I have
about 25$ in my stack, and the raiser has about $7.

I decide to wait and see the flop before I put him on a hand, so that I
can put him on something I can beat.

Flop : Q 8 6 rainbow. Perfect. Of course he must have AK.

I check with the intention of raising his continuation bet, and he
falls right into my trap, betting $2.25. Button folds and I min-raise
to $4.50. He shoves in his last $1.55 and I figure I'm beat, but what
the hell, pot odds and all that, so I call.

Turn J, River T. Lucky for me my read was off and I take the pot down
with my straight.

I check the HH. He mucked QQ.

I honestly can't remember the worst beat I ever laid on someone. I would
guess it was in a turbo $1 SNG where I was fooling around, opening the pot
with every hand, calling any reraise, yada yada. Anyhow, I open with 46
UTG, it folds to the button who reraises me, I call. Flop is something
like 27T. I push, he calls me (like a TOTAL donk) with TT.

Turn and river 3 and 5, and a very unhappy railbird.

The BEST suckout (over two hands) though was last week, when I was playing
in the Bodog $5K gtd. I had managed to come back from 175 chips to about
5300, over the course of the 100/200 to 300/600 levels, and open pushed
from MP with 66. Button calls, SB jams, button calls the jam ... I know
I'm toast. Button has JQo (WTF?) and SB has 99. Anyhow, I catch a 6 on
the river and triple up.

Fast forward to the 600/1200 level and I have about 10K. I open push with
AQo from the cutoff and the BB has QQ. Flop is AK4, with three spades
(and I had the Qs), turn A, river 3, and I double again.

I say this was the best because I went on to win the whole damn thing :)
After my brutal share of 2 and 3 outers over the course of my MTT
experiences, it was nice to have things operating in reverse for a brief
period, at crucial moments!

I remember mine. It was in a tournament at Stars a few years ago. I
was short stacked and pushed in MP with ATo. Got reraised by AA and we
were heads up. Our cards were turned over and I was ready to log off.
The board -- coming excruciatingly slow, of course -- was:

A T x ... T ... T.

Boy, did that player cuss up a storm.

Home game, seven stud. It's down to me and another player with seventh
street coming. He has three clubs showing, Ac and two low clubs. I've
already made my flush, Jc is the highest spade showing but I've got the
As in the pocket. he goes all-in, I call. We flip 'em, he's made his
flush with AcQcXcXcXc to my AsJsXsXsXs. I knew the Qs had been folded,
I ask if anyone folded the Ks, nobody did. His seventh is a rag, my
seventh is... you guessed it... Ks. I thought the guy was gonna vomit.

Interesting comparison about the takeaway from both sports.

In golf I too suck and remember the one good shot that hit the meat of
the wood, flew off the club, landed just right and rolled an extra long
way stopping right on the green.

Yet when people play poker they seem to only walk away remembering the
suckout...at least from all the suckoout and xxx is riged posts.

I wonder why the difference.

I am hoping that people will start to remember the hands that gave them a tickle
rather the a kick in the gut.

I play golf. I suck at golf. I always make one shot that makes me want to play
again.
I play poker. I am ok at poker. I always win one pot that makes me want to play
more.

I've had so many spectacular suckouts while rampaging I can't even keep
track of them anymore. One of the best was a 1 outer at a 5/10 table on
Bodog to take me from about $300 to over $1000. My QQ vs. AA vs. AK in a
3 way all-in on a flop of AQx, and I hit quads on the turn. They weren't
all that happy with me. As soon as I saw the cards on the flop I cursed
pretty loud because the $300 started out as $25 about an hour before
that...but once the turn hit I just started laughing.

I've got 3 favorites, only one of which was me playing:

Mine:

Raise with AJo in MP, called by loose player on the button. Flop 955.
I check to him because he likes to make plays. He bets, I check-jam
(tournament, my jam was about 1.2xpot). Runner jacks means 99 no good
sir.

Watching:

1) TT vs QQ all-in preflop for about 40bb each. Flop TTx. TT guy
gets some nice consolation prizes on his way out. Stars rules.

2) Flop 3c Ac Ts. Player1 bets, Player2 min-raises. Player1
min-raises, Player2 calls.
Turn Tc Same action.
River Jc. The min-raise wars of all min-raise wars breaks out. After
about 15 min-bets one guy finally jams, which is still about 2x pot.

Quad tens no good this time either. This time it was pokerroom dishing
giant rectum shafts.
