By the way the question is, how would you have played this? Signal <nobody@nowhere.com > wrote: >$12k (Aussie Millions package) freeroll. Well, the only way you could have won the hand is if you got the idiot to fold b4 the flop. I know you want action on your KK, but at that point in the tourney I am probably pushing all in after a limper. I am happy with what is in the pot. He could have limped with Ax, and you want him to dump it. That he called a $35,000 raise with J5 suited, well, you just can't avoid stupidity even at that level, but I don't think he would have called a push. The thing is, I have no read on this player. Obviously from this call he seems very loose. Has he been playing this way all along to get to this point? > > Signal <nobody@nowhere.com> wrote: > > >$12k (Aussie Millions package) freeroll. The jam with KK is one thing, but if I do it in this spot, I want Ax to call, not to fold. If he calls a jam with Ax that is one thing and you can't avoid it. If I've gotten down to 18 people in a 1500 person tournament, I don't want Ax chasing my KK, even if the odds are in my favor. I'd rather take what's inthe pot, mostly because of personal preferance, not because of the math. I just don't want my KK sucked out on by junk. I know this is likely incorrect, but it's still the way I'd play it (pushing). On Dec 18 2006 12:43 PM, XaQ Morphy wrote: > > Mostly bad luck. The call before the flop was only for 10% of his stack, and everyone else folded. I have found that many people are stubborn and wont let you take down the pot. They would rather make a bad call than let you have the easy pot. I wasnt trying to say the hand was poorly played, it was a rather unlucky hand. But, with the opponent limping then just calling, you cant really put him on just high cards or a pair unless you have seen him do it regularly. He may have been one of those people that play anything suited, who knows? When the board pairs be cautious, thats all I meant.
