Why does so much of the crap on here originate from yahoo? Is there something special there? A few months ago, in exasperation, I blocked all of yahoo. Since then, I have commissioned a new laptop, and decided to start again, rather than just re-import the old block list. But now I'm coming close to just blocking all of yahoo again. Can anyone explain what attraction yahoo has for spammers, and for the tedious "rigged" brigade? Thanks, Palooka

The fact that yahoo doesn't seem to want to 'police' their pages doesn't hurt too much either. As an example, Yahoo used to allow user created chat rooms. However, they stopped this after a guy met and raped an underaged girl through a user created chat room, that, of course, was named something like "underagegirloldermenhookup." Some of the user created rooms had names even more explicit than that. Yahoo was aware of this, but felt no need to stop it until they were sued. Now no user-created chat rooms are allowed. They could have solved, or at least decreased the problem dramatically by just paying some guy $200/hr to delete user created chat rooms that didn't meet certain guidelines (Yahoo sold advertisements via the chat rooms so they did have a vested interested in maintaining chat room traffic) as they were being created. This certainly wouldn't have eliminate the presence of online predators but it at least would have made it more difficult for them, and would allow the other, legitimate user-created chat rooms to still exist. Even if I did, I might well hesitate before casting them amongst swine (present company excepted of course :-) Palooka

I own severall email addresses, and Yahoo seems to be one of the best at spam handling, so if I am going to publish one addy, tis gonna be the Yahoo address everytime. Hope this helps. A pitty you block the whole of the yahoo addreeses, but if this makes your life easier, way to go... Palooka a écrit : > Why does so much of the crap on here originate from yahoo?
