Here's a question: Doug, Joey, Jeffery, and Jordie are playing no-limit texas hold 'em. The board is AKKQQ. It's the last round of betting before the showdown. Doug bets $20. Joey calls. Jeffery raises $20. Jordie only has $25, so she goes all in. Each player puts in $25 in the main pot, and every player other than Jordie puts $15 in the side pot. The main pot is $100, the side pot is $45 (If there are any errors here, please let me know). In the showdown, Jeffery has King pair, Joey has Ace trips, and Doug has Queens full of Jacks. Doug whens the $45 side pot. Jordie only has a pair of deuces. Who gets the main pot? Doug? Thanks!!!!

The worst hand anyone can have is k's over q's. ace trips would be a fh, aces over k's. No one can make q's full of j's, with no j on the board. Any errors? You playing with a full deck?

Doug wins sidepot and main pot. Main pot, Jordies money and everyone's match of that. any additional money is in the side pot which Jordie cannot win. Board AAKQQ Doug bets 20 Joe calls Jeff Raises to 40 Jordon all in for 25 Doug Calls 40 (I am assuming) Joe calls 40 (I am assuming) Doug turns up AA for AAAAK Joe turns up KQ for QQQAA Jeff turns up KK for KKKAA Jordon turns up QJ for QQQAA Side pot of 45 goes to Doug's quad aces Main pot of X+100 (X=all the action pre-river) goes to Doug's Quad Aces I take it that this was a home game. The best thing to do would be to determine the pots first then put the only pot that the all in player can win in front of him. All the other players turn up and resolve the side pot(s) then the all-in guy turns his up and you determine if he beats the other players. _______________________________________________________________ Your Online Poker Community - http://www.recpoker.com

Thanks!!!! The winner of the side pot, who presumably has the best hand. Once the side pot is disposed of (or multiple side pots), then the winner of the side pot has a separate showdown with the all-in player. If the all-in player beats the side pot player, he gets the main pot. Otherwise, the winner of the side pot gets the main pot, too. Unless I've screwed up explaining this. I haven't slept for a couple days.

If Joey has trip aces, then they're full of kings and he gets everything. And if they're playing NLHE, then how could Doug have Queens full of Jacks -- he'd need three cards in his hand.
