Mail keeps coming to former World Trade Center Last Update: 12/2/2006 1:55:33 PM NEW YORK (AP) - Five years after the World Trade Center towers fell, the notes and letters keep coming to the famous address that no longer exists. Hundreds of phone bills, insurance statements, college alumni newsletters and junk mail arrive every day at the post office facing Ground Zero. They serve as daily reminders of the unfinished lives of September eleventh victims. It's not completely clear why the letters are still being mailed. Senders include government agencies and some of the nation's most recognizable organizations. A U-S Postal Service spokeswoman speculates that some companies are slow to update their bulk mailing lists. The letter carrier who handles the lower Manhattan route says the senders will eventually "realize the towers aren't back up." But, she adds, "I don't know when."
