I was in a HORSE on Stars, and a Razz and NLHE on Absolute
I monied in the HORSE, winning an astonishing $1.14. Lost $5 in the Razz
and broke even in the NLHE satty.

Well, I took into consideration that it was pokerstars and unlikely to let
me get there 3 times in a row. I almost dumped the damn hand on 5th st.
But you are also right, I did nopt want to force out either hi hand. I
was drawing to low, didn't expect to make the wheel but did expect to make
a low.

In the interest of Steve, and to provide real feedback in the hand...
On the end your opponent made a huge mistake in checking you down.
The Ace High Flush and the 8 high low are good enough to rate a bet.
Your check tends to mean that at least one of these are good, and there
is a chance more than the rake that he will scoop on the final bet.
The math in limit stud8 gets ugly pretty fast if you miss those last
value bets.
As the old joke goes: I don't have to be faster than the bear, just
faster than you.

We are here to discuss Penny-Ante poker? Politics are more interesting
than freakin' Penny Ante poker.
I think somewhere in the FAQ we need to include the the idiom as defined
here:

I know. I know. My normal game is 50c/$1 (which is a little more
respectable) but I had just stumbled upon the new Horse Games at UB and
was just trying them out. That was all they had last week. :-)

Bravo.
But as an actual aside. I have found, depending on if you are avoiding
strong games, or like stronger play for the challenge.
That in Micro/Baby limit poker, that ONE level up from the bottom, like
a 2 dollar sit'n'go or one level up cash game, is probably the level
with the most knowledgeable players. There are just more completely
lost players lower and higher.

Don't be a dick. Not everyone can afford to play higher stakes, and the best
way to get a bankroll to play higher stakes is to start out with penny ante
games.

*I* in all my maleness did NOT invent the idiom of what "penny-ante"
means. It came into usage by folks that fully understood the weight
and meaty-ness of "penny ante".
And here we are, an example held up as a clarion call of just this kind
of idiocy, and we find out... It is a penny ante game.
BTW, the author, the hopefully not eponymous Mr Fish, unlike you, saw
the immediate problem with his post.

OK, fair enough. My point, though, is that anyone, no matter what level they're
playing, can improve through discussion. And why would you want to potentially
humiliate someone for the stakes they're playing? Just because this specific
author doesn't normally play 1c/2c doesn't mean that there aren't other posters
who do normally play that low. They could have something interesting to say.
