Subject: can't add chips on pokerstars.net
I just signed up and have tried clicking on the dealer (both before
and after clicking on an open seat), but the "Add More Chips" button
at the top left of the pop-up window is grayed out and I can't add any
chips to the 1000 I already have. Since all the Stud games have a
minimum of 2000, I haven't been able to play anything...

Any help appreciated.

The 200/400 Stud games have a minimum buy in of 2000 chips.

Pokerstars offers 10/20 Stud games that have a minimum buy in of 100 chips.

Send a note to support@pokerstars.net asking for 2000 play chips for the
above reason.

What's a NLHE game? No Limits Hold 'Em? So I have to start off by
playing a different game than the one I actually want to?

Thanks,
Marc

Play any game that allows you to buy in for 1000 and win enough to buy in at
a higher level.

I think that is almost always true for all of us. :)

you can also buy a bulk amount of play chips at http://pokerbonuscity.net

they sell for only $11 per million now :)

make sure to save that site so you can find it in the future.

Hope that helps

You are playing "play chips" right? They "give" you 1000. If you want to
play a game that requires more, you have to win them. If you want to play
a stud game that requires 2000 chips, you will have to double what you
were given. I suggest you go to a NLHE game that allows you to buy in
with the full 1000, and then push it all in on the first hand. If you
lose, they will then give you 1000 more (they will give you 1000 every
time you hit 0). So, keep pushing all in until you double up and have
your 2000, then leave that game and go play the stud game you want to play.

Actually, it's better to wait a bit until you have decent odds or else
you'll end up waiting. They will only replenish your chips 3x per hour.
