Some people dislike it, some swear by it: Northlake Tavern (If there's such a thing as a "Northwest Pizza" this is it.) (Tacky little tavern under the ship canal bridge near the University of Washington. UW students are the main clientele. I think it's great when baked right.) tvp

North Beach Pizza in San Francisco (often great; sometimes not). 2. Pizzaria Uno, Boston & SF (a chain, yes, but always tasty) 3. Brick Oven Pizza, Austin TX 4. Some Pizza joint in Minneapolis Minn that my wife's family took me to. Don't remember the name, but it was really good. 5. Pizza Haven, Bellevue WA (1960's) childhood memories. Chain went downhill later, or maybe my taste developed.

La Cosa Nostradamus wrote: > Doc's pizza in Riverhead Long island. > Atheism is drawing dead I believe it was a place just inside the Chinatown section of San Fran. I forget the exact location or the name of the place as I was still an alcohol consumer at the time. :) I wasn't so drunk that I didn't recognize a great pizza though. Worst pizza is one I got at a place in Westfield, NJ. It wasn't a chain restaurant but it was an established, busy place that identified as a pizza place. I'll settle for about anything when I'm hungry but I threw that pizza out. That says something cuz throwing out pizza is like saying no to a bj, it's just not done. :)

Absolutely the best texture and tasting pizza dough I've ever had, and great sauce. We would drive the 50 miles from Omaha to Lincoln just for the pizza. We'd get 2 or 3 half-baked and take them back home and freeze them for later. Although, quality sure dropped off the last 20-30 years as they started opening additional restaurants. Second place was Gino's East deep dish sausage pizza in Chicago. A cornbread type crust with the sausage as a flattened patty across the entire top. These slices are almost a meal each. I can pack away a lot of food, but two of these slices and I'm full. Robert Ladd

I was working there so at the end I could make it the way I like it. I don't go over with the hole rolling thing so I could have thick crust with lots of air bubbles formed in the oven.

I still like Papa John's, thin crust, with green olives and pineapple. I know it's a chain store, but it's GOOD! Papa Ginos is uasually pretty good for a chain also. Another Localized shop is pizzeria Regina in Bawstons North End, YUM. You need at least 1 drop of Italian blood to walk around in that area ! If you don't have one and u are a good guy we can hook u up. > news:E6ydncYjnN_-4O_UnZ2dnUVZ_h-dnZ2d@cablespeedmi.com... > > "Jason Pawloski" <a6794a4@webnntp.invalid> wrote in message > > news:hsaa46xhfv.ln2@recgroups.com... > >> On Jan 17 2009 3:21 PM, La Cosa Nostradamus wrote: > >> > >>> Doc's pizza in Riverhead Long island. > >>> Atheism is drawing dead > >> > >> "The Spot" in La Jolla CA. Or are you referring to those massive sort of open-faced strombolis they throw together in cake pans? Anyway, wherever you are, and whatever kind of pizza you like, IMO, the best pizza is made at home, either in the oven or on the grill. -- Larry (or found at Conte's in Princeton, NJ... 8;) )
