Subject: The end of the free press in America
One of the past strengths of America had been its free press. Granted, it
had a strong liberal bias and suffered from a severe case of "Bush
Derangement Syndrome" but at least it pretended to be impartial and
objective. Now, it doesn't even bother pretending. The mainstream press
stopped reporting the news and investigating the facts when it became a
political propaganda machine for The Messiah's campaign. People like Chris
"a thrill ran up my leg when I heard Obama speak" Matthews and Keith
Olbermann were Obama press agents pretending to be journalists. Spinning
news and burying stories at the request of Obama party members. Even
anti-establishment comedians like Chris Rock say that it's not right to make
jokes about Obama. So now, all that remains of the once free press are a
few isolated cable and radio shows. And you can look for the Obama party to
target and censor them by intimidating their upper management, threatening
to play the race card and implementing the "fairness doctrine". My hope is
that one or two of them may survive. After all, there are still 55,000,000+
Americans who did not vote for your Messiah - and I'm proud to be one of
them. On a brighter note, after listening to liberals disparage, insult and
criticize President Bush every single day for eight straight years, we
finally get a turn at bat. And if we don't speak out, no one will. Because
the free press is dead in America.

"Liberal mainstream media" Mike...?

Are you referring to Chris Wallace at Fixed News who as of today was
declaring he wasn't sure if Obama is actually the president...?

Indeed. I couldn't find any of the articles about this (no doubt they've
been scrubbed to shield newspapers' news staffs from their dereliction of
duty), but this should have been one of the biggest from the Bush years.
But, I suppose it's foolish to expect the media to cover a story that's
such an indictment of their own negligence. They're having a hard enough
time selling newspapers as it is.

Huh?

The OP alleges that Libby and turdblossom planted stories, and you say
that you couldn't find any articles documenting that?

You then say it's evidence that the media scrubbed those stories?
It happens, but it is damnably hard to make it stick.
The Intertubes go a long way to plugging up Orwell's Memory Hole.

I will tell you that the Internet Never Forgets.
There are sites that keep copies of sites before they get scrubbed.

So did I cut something in this post that explains what I missed here?

One of my friends sent me a link to a story on the Michelle Malkin
blog, it was a good story too... and I perused around a few moments
and saw these comments everywhere with BDS, BDS, BDS, BDS, BDS. I was
like, wtf is BDS? I know the big push now on the conservative blogs
is to exonerate Bush from responsibility and chalk up criticism of him
to low-down, evil, pinko-liberal 'Bush-bashing.' It was an extension
of that process, obviously, but what it stood for wasn't clear.

I guess could've googled the freaking acronym.

The term BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) was coined by a real live
psychiatrist turned columnist named Charles Krauthammer.
The man knows whereof he speaks.

In reality, the VRWC blogs have long since lost patience with Bush
with his departure from Conservative principles a long time ago.
They still recognize the mindless hatred and venom habitually spewed
by Lefties, regardless of whatever he did.

Michelle Malkin's blog is an excellent source of news and opinions
that don't get aired on the MSM.

The Lady does not pull her punches.
A regular, pint sized version of Ann Coulter.
Guaranteed to induce a hissy fit in Leftists.

Currently, she has a whimsical little article about Iran, showing
Iranians burning Obama's photo.

Chris Rock didn't say " that it's not right to make jokes about Obama."...

From:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/01/19/chris.rock.kill.the.messenger/index.html

CNN: I watched the special last night, and I noticed that you did a lot of
jokes about John McCain -- his age, his war hero story -- but not so many
about Barack Obama. Is it harder to make fun of Obama?

Chris Rock: He's just one of those guys, you know, like Will Smith.
There's no Will Smith jokes. There's no Brad Pitt jokes. You know, what
are you going to say? "Ooh, you used to have sex with Jennifer Anniston.
Now you have sex with Angelina Jolie. You're such a loser." What do you
say? "Ooh, your movies are big. You make $20 million." There's nothing to
say about Brad Pitt.

CNN: Why is Obama like that?

Rock: It's like "Ooh, you're young and virile and you've got a beautiful
wife and kids. You're the first African-American president." You know,
what do you say?

CNN: As time goes on do you think it will get easier?

Rock: Of course, as time goes on. At some point he's going to -- there's
always slip-ups. No one can survive that level of scrutiny without
occasionally making it easy for a comedian.
