But 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' is a timeless classic. It's had a strong influence on a range of film-makers and even today it's imitated. The cinematography, music, and Sergio Leone's aggressive gritty style in combination with Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach was a perfect storm. It's not good. It's fucking great.

It's in my queue as well. Haven't seen it but I heard it got solid reviews. However, I have seen two pretty good (but not great) movies recently. "Appoloosa" and "Taken". Irish Mike > > _______________________________________________________________________ I thought Appaloosa was a good western, also. Appaloosa was surprising in that, it was a traditional western containing all the elements of a traditional western, but somehow elevated each aspect to a more interesting and detailed level than usual. It was well done, and by the time the movie was over, you really knew where the characters "were coming from"; great character development. _________________________________________________________ Posted via the -Web to Usenet- forums at http://www.pokermagazine.com Visit www.pokermagazine.com

Did you read the book? Not yet. I read Parker's blog post about it and Ed's comment about why he needed to make a movie about the book.

Jerry Lewis was the first guest and Clint Eastwood was the next guest to come out. When Carson announces his next guest is Clint Eastwood, Lewis flips out. Makes a big production of saying he didn't know Eastwood was going to be on the show, doesn't want to be there with Eastwood etc. Never did hear any thing about why those two didn't get along.
