Subject: Super Bowl Squares?
Alright this is going to be damned near impossible, but WTF why not.

There is a site that hosts this kind of thing and it costs 9.95. I am
willing to front the 9.95 for them to host the squares, but I am not going
to do it unless I get enough interest.

We have over a month to sell the squares and we can come up with a
reasonable amount per square based off interest (if only 20 or so people
are interested something like 1.00 a square or something so we can sell
all the squares, if 100 people are interested we can make it 20.00 or
30.00 a square etc and make the payout a little bigger)

The site is:

http://superbowlsquares.org/football-squares.php#service

I have no affiliation with this site. I just did a quick google search
and found them.

A quick show of hands to see who is interested.

I will keep bringing the thread up every couple days or so.

Can somebody recap where this is at? Are they $5 squares or $20 squares?
Is there room for me to get in?

Most likely the squares will be 5.00 a piece. There is enough room for
you if you would like to get involved.

I am going to start it next week. I think we have 10 people involved so
far.

It is web based and the money details will follow.

Hey not a big deal. I think it will be fun. There is no real bragging
rights because it is all luck. Just another something to keep you
interested and focused on the GAME itself.

Heck, that's the reason for betting. Otherwise I wouldn't be watching the
Lions!!

Let us know the methdodology once you have sold sufficient squares.

I assume we can xfer the $$$ to you, say via Pokerstars, and you would give
us a pw to see the squares?

Do we first get assigned squares and then the numbers are drawn just before
the SuperBowl??

I am not sure how much squares will be etc, but from the look of the
responses I think around 5.00 a square sounds good so far.

Charrison is in for 50.00
Schmedley is in for 20.00 and will drop a vig on it to up the ante.
Susan is in for ?, but in non the less
DonkeybanAA is in for 50.00
MZB is in for 20.00
Bgadams is in for ?, but in non the less
Brewmaster is in for ?, but again in non the less

If we do 5.00 squares:

28 sold so far not including me or however many Susan, Bgadams, Brewmaster
will buy.

I will guess at least 12 for them and I am in for 50.00 most likely (I
will buy whatever is left if I can get the total up to about 70 squares or
so.)

That is 50 total at this point.

Again I am not starting it yet, but wanted to summarize everything.

Anyone else interested?

A little under a month left before Super bowl Sunday.

Morphy is now in for 20.00 (if we do 10.00 squares)

We would have 27 (roughly, figuring Susan, Bdg and Brew in for 20.00 a
piece.) so far at 10.00 per square.

9 people so far have said yes to this idea.

We had a thread a few weeks ago about the number of 'lurkers' and someone
said WAY over like 20k? I doubt that.

This is a GAMBLING group and the Superbowl is the biggest sporting event
based off one of the biggest bet sports and I can only get 9 people?

If there are more than 100 people who 'lurk' or 150 combined I would be
shocked.

CincyKid is in for 20.00 now as well.

That makes 10 people.

Morph: If we do 5.00 squares the payouts would be:

100.00
100.00
100.00
200.00

Not bad for a 20.00 investment.

IF we do 5.00 a square 52 squares left. Almost half sold!

Anyone else interested?

Bdg/Brew any idea how much you are willing to put in? Just so I can get a
better idea how many squares etc would be left at 10.00 or 5.00 a square.

We still have 10, but Brew has declared 25.00.

So now Fell is going to take the time to do the math and figure out how
much he will need to put in 'to have an edge'

I personally think he is just saying that to see me have to keep updating
the damn thread!

;)

Oh yeah and on another note. I personally have no problem if someone has
another person they want to bring in that may be a personal friend or
something as long as the pool is paid for their squares. This is also
contingent on us not having enough RGP'ers to fill the squares.

Remember this is going to be web based so anyone that has computer access
with the correct URL and a password can access the grid.

If I knew where you lived, I might be inclined to give you money for
squares.

However, for all I know, you work for Jetset Poker. No offense.

1000.00 is nothing to me really.

I am sure there are many people on here who can vouch for me. I am alot

Of course the people who vouch for me you may not trust either, but I have

I believe you. I just don't make a habit out of shipping money to people
I've never seen.

Not that I haven't made exceptions to that rule, but that's where I stand.

Like I said, no offense, it's got nothing to do with you personally really.

I have his home address. So do a few others here. Alro trusted him to send

That being said I will vouch for him.

If you're at 50 at this point then you could half the price of the squares
and be full.

Yeah but I was actually hoping to get squares at 10.00 to make a better
pay out. 2.50 is a little low.

250.00 total with a 20,20,20,40 format gives most their money back if they
win the first 3 quarters and a slight profit for winning the 4th.

If I can get about 15 more people or so I could make 10.00 a square work.

If you do $10 squares I'm in for 2, but I don't want to just say I'm in
for $20 and find out that I get 2000 1c squares later on. Or is that
20,000. Paul?

There has not been a lot of activity on this thread lately. John is just
reviving it to try and get more interest.

I'll look up your address when i get home. i believe I saved it in my
outlook there. I can use my webmail form work to check charrison 100 at
cogeco dot ca if you want to fire me a line now.

Right now John is trying to get confirmation of how many squares people
will buy at $5 per square. All you have to do is commit to a number of
squares or dollar amount you are willing to put it.

I believe we are going to be doing Stars transfers to John but if you want
to send it to me then I can make sure he gets it. I think you wanted me to
keep the name off RGP the last time we transfered anything.

Thanks - I'll go up to $20. Doesn't matter if less if it is needed to keep
things even.

And I'll transfer to you on stars.

I used to scam FootBall Squares. It doesn't take much to find out
where the 4,7,3,0, 1 are. Having numbers like 12, 11, 22 33 and such
which are more than 60% of the board are basically impossible to win
with. Did this for a season, never lost a week. Look for those who
sell these to know where they are being bet. Watch who bets, as new
betters will enter.

Another SCAM. But, why would you people know? Because the world is so
dishonest, you think gambling is going to be honest?

When I have run these the numbers were filled in randomly after all the
squares were sold. I could have been dishonest but instead I just pulled
numbers out of a hat with a witness.

Every year in recent memory except the end of 2001 ... Wall street mid
level honchos would put a part of their bonus into a 10K a square
Super Bowl box for a cool million ... last year there were at least
3 ... I talked to a Wall Street friend who earned just below that
level (or at least felt 10K was pricey) if it were going on this
year ... He told me he hadn't heard of any ... but didn't know for
sure since he was out of a job since September ...
So maybe there are a lot of 9.95 a box players out there ...

We got 4 so far. With a prize pool that already has reached maybe 300.00
or so?

Looking at these 4 maybe looking at 25.00 a square or so.

And for those who have never done a superbowl square pool etc. There is
NO SKILL involved. You pick however many squares you want in a blank
grid. Later the grids are randomly assigned numbers and the 2 teams
participating are assigned a side of the grid. At the ends of the
quarters of the superbowl the last digit in the score for each team
matches up to the appropriate square and you win 'x' amount of money.

You need not know WHO is playing, WHEN they are playing, WHERE they are
playing, HOW the game of football is played or even WHY the game is played.

You just need to know IF you win and front the money, pick your squares
before the game and collect if you win.
