The absoulute best LIVE solo I was ever in attendance for was John D'Chiaro
( a pompous arrogant prick at University of Southern Mississippi) who may be
the BEST classical guitarist alive today, although I've seen Segovia,
Montenegro and others.
I was also very good friends with Mike Keneally (back in 88-90) who went on
to play guitar for Zappa on his last tours. His previous Band "Drop
Control" was a band I worked with in San Diego.
The best speed metal Guitarist I've ever seen was "Amir De Rock" from "Ruff
cutt", his real name is Amir Gohar Derockashan, and his cousin was the music
director and keyboard player for a band I managed back in the day called
"ERTH" who I got signed to Chrysalis by Kelly Muchoney. Kelly, happened to
get fired the next week, so the deal never went through.
If your talking BASS guitar Jason Scheff (who took over as lead Singer for
Chicago) is by FAR AND WIDE the best bass player in the World. He still
plays many studio gigs in L.A, N.Y, Nashville, and whereever else they can
get/afford him to play session work. Before Jason, his DAD was the best
bassist alive.
How can anyone leave Eddie Van Halen off of a list like this? He
RE-IVNENTED rock guitar. One of the 3 to ever do so.

Mike Keneally is the "one that got away" in my Band Management career. His
band "Drop Control" circa 1986-88 (before he left to tour with Zappa) was
"this close" to signing with me and my agency Darren, Jackson, and Carr. I
was "Darren" then. Charlie Darren, I owned and operated Music News Magazine
(Bought it from Barry "B. Arthur" Brown when he moved to L.A.) I also
managed Club Mirage, and ran the "91x Battle of the California Originals" at
the Halcyon for the first 3 weeks, then moved it to Mirage when the crowds
got to big and the Fire Marshall threatened to close us.
Drop Control finished SECOND in the "91x battle" to a 13 piece band called
"Burning Bridges" which had (I shit you not) 6 percussionists.
BTW, you failed to mention the "Mike Keneally Band" I don't know how many
albums they released, but I have one and it is AWESOME.

Like I told you a couple of weeks ago, I haven't spent NEARLY as much time
on R.G.P. in the past 6 months as I used to. In fact when I opened it for
the first time AFTER the Election there were 30,000 headers since I'd opened
it.
I didn't/don't know about any "boycotts" and actually don't participate in
GROUP boycotts. If I want to Ploink someone, I do, if not, I don't. As you
know, I'm not much of a "follower", and as long as posters treat me with a
tiny bit of respect, I'll argue points with them if we disagree, as long as
it doesn't turn into FLAME WARS, then PLOINK. Until then, I just scan and
don't answer or respond to things I don't want to or posters I don't want
to.
So when are you gonna call me?

Fuggit, here it is. You know what our area code is.... now subtract 186
from that. You'll have the first three numbers. now take our area code,
and put a Zero in front of it and that's the last four numbers.
I really don't care who has my number, but I'm not going to put it in print
for BOTS to grab.
