Obama was already a lying conman politician from South Chicago before the
election, so why should we be surprised that more evidence supporting that
viewpoint keeps appearing?

I already had enough information to make that determination BEFORE the
election, and I said exactly this before the election. Maybe you

Fuck off, Coleman. I was never an Obamaton - I voted for and bet on

that he'll be better than Bush... or McCain. Of course, that only
requires mediocracy to achieve.

Not at all. Willie as a formidable debater and is capable of very
persuasive and insightful analysis on a wide variety of topics. On this,
though, he as latched onto a perceived contradiction by Obama when he has no
reasonable factual basis to do so; not to mention that any contradiction is
not even the real story (which is that when Blago wanted to play dirty ball,
Obama said no).

The "gotcha" card played by Willie here is so weak because it's obvious
Obama has to be careful. I *want* my President knowing who the scumbags are
and where the corruption is. The President doesn't have to be (and in my
view should not be) ignorant of corruption. He does not need to explain to
me everything he knows about corruption in this case. Blago saying being
pissed because Obama wouldn't play along is pretty damned powerful.

Well, no, you can't demur so easily. I believe you hold rather strong
beliefs that a very powerful, in fact well-nigh *most* powerful, cabal of
wealthy and influencial persons have orchestrated Presidential elections for
decades. Obama does not appear to have the pedigree in keeping with such a
plot, nor does he appear to be beholden to the same folks who populate the
CFR, etc.

What happened?

Those that know do not respond to the third degree ... they are masters and
eligible for the shrine. When Paul speaks, he is not always wrong. It is
the "fool" in the king's court that often is the only one that speaks truth
to power. Do you, James, not believe that there is a very powerful group of
wealthy and influential people that seek even more wealth and power?

I have never been able to get a clear picture of exactly who Paul is talking

It could apply to any group at all, that is why I asked. I am not talking
about conspiracy folks. I am asking whether you believe there is a very
powerful group of wealthy and influential people that seek even more wealth
and power?

We can talk about the relative "danger" of such group/s only if you believe
it/they exist.

Paul certainly has history on his side in this discussion.

We could, but I was discussing Paul's group specifically.

Do you mean he has a history of talking about it here; or do you mean that
there is historical evidence to support the existence of the group he

When they don't even have the basic sense to fear communism, how are you
supposed to continue the conversation from there? I mean, where are you
supposed to go from there? James H. and Chris Robin are so fucking
brainwashed that they think it is "silly" to fear communism and "unfair" to
hate communists. So how are you supposed to talk with these folks about the
behind-the-scenes power that has bankrolled and kept communism alive from
Day One and that threatens to wrap the whole globe in a similar tyranny some
day soon? Don't waste your time with people who are not perceptive enough
in the first place to keep from swallowing the liberal lie. That's a pretty
big handicap to overcome. It most likely is never going to happen. These
kinda folks will not see the light until they are standing blindfolded
before a firing squad. Then it will be too late. Someone like Chris Robin
will be standing there, trembling, about to be 'liquidated', and he'll be
thinking "Gosh, duh, maybe Popinjay was right about these communists. Maybe
I SHOULD have looked under my bed." And then a brainstorm will suddenly
come over him. He'll say to himself, "Oh, wait, I'll just reason with these
guys who are about to shoot me. Oh Comandante! Can we discuss this
reasonably? I think lining me up before a firing squad like this violates
my rights under the United Nations Human Rights for Dumb Liberals Treaty."
And the comandante will say, "Treaty? Treaty? We don't need no stinking
treaty." BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM! Oops, should have lisened to Popinjay.
Popinjay TOLD you not to waste your time donating that $20 to Dennis
Kucinich. Fucking dope!

I fear any political system that does not spread the power around and
attempts to slow what I feel is the inevitable road to the bureaucracy
eventually getting all the power and there is either an external invasion or
an internal revolution. I fear any economic system that is not diverse and
competitive. I fear that there are many different political systems (and
economic systems; and some that combine both) of which to be fearful. I am
not so worried about a specific group being "in cahoots" to bring about a
particular system as I am about an innominate group that actually believes
the same thing and convinces enough others to buy into the system.

I think this is what happened with communism. It sounds so good. It is the
lure of utopia that is so irresistible to so many people. Sort of like cold
fusion or man made global warming.

Various religions have fit the profile over the centuries and all sorts of
tribal organizations.

Communism is certainly to be feared. The failure of the USSR has not fazed
the defenders of the "concept" ... it was just poorly implemented.
Dictatorship is another great solution as long as you get the "right"
dictator and you are in the in group. Succession is a bitch, but there you
are. Kings are sort of like dictators.

Division of power and dispersal of ownership and as much freedom of activity
as possible is what I like. Private ownership as the gold standard.
Freedom of thought and expression. Very limited "power" to law makers.
Still plenty to agree and disagree upon.

I am very fearful of a reprisal of communistic sympathy. But my fears are
not limited to that one system that could spell the end of freedom as we
know it.

We continue to look to government to solve problems and many of them have
been caused by government in the first place. Government never stops and
says ... we screwed up. Lets get rid of that and maybe just get out of the
way for a minute. Is there anything that some folks do not think would be
"better" if smart people could just get together and decide what was best
for us?

Peter Gleick thinks the water crisis is the worst one facing the USA. More
important that MMGW. We should stop everything and concentrate on that ...
not the other stuff. There are hundreds of "most important crisis" folks.
There are those that think the government can solve all these problems if
big oil would just give up their profits. The government has such a
fantastic history of effective and efficient management. Just give them
everything and let them dish it out.

Why not just have the government own everything ... we all will work for the
government ... the government can tell us better where we should go to
school and what occupation we would be best at and what we "need" ... and we
only have to give our best effort for the common good. Each person will get
their basic needs taken care of. No one will get "more" just because they
were lucky or worked harder or crap like that.

Let's see if we can design a catch phrase ... "from each according ... "

You know the rest. I know YOU do.

What sounds good? What, specifically, are you saying sounds good?

How did the USSR "fail"? What "failure" are you talking about? It didn't
fail. How was a concept "poorly implemented"? It wasn't poorly
implemented. I think you're just very confused.

All for one and one for all. Very utopian.

The defenders of "communism" think that the system was poorly implemented by
the USSR. The system failed to produce the worker's paradise promised.
Communism as a government and economic system failed as implemented in the
USSR. The system is working much better in China, but it too is doomed in
the long run. But that is just my confused opinion.

I think you just repeated yourself. What did they want to do, that they
couldn't? You're the one who said they failed.

uh uh ...

It is not surprising that many do not know the significance of the third
degree master petitioning to the shrine. It is also not surprising that
many do not realize that often the one acting the fool to be the voice of
truth. But enough of that ... tee hee

Don't you get tired of blabbering about UNSUBSTANTIATED bullshit.?
You are actually bragging about voting against a man who will go down in
history as one of the all time great world leaders.
You are truly a pitiful embarassment to Saint Patrick!!!!

Well, I. Mike is almost certainly wrong about everything he says. But,
as for Obama, I think I'll take a wait and see attitude regarding this
all time great world leaders stuff.

But, a definite improvement over Bush. But, of course, a village idiot
would be better than Bush, so there's a bit of room there for
improvement.

Good point, Joe, maybe you should take a run at it in 2012.
