Just when you thought Obama would have learned his lesson about vetting candidates before he appoints them to his administration, he picks another tax cheat. "Obama budget official withdraws for tax reasons a.. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's choice to oversee budget and spending reform, Nancy Killefer, withdrew her nomination on Tuesday because of tax reasons, according to a letter released by the White House. "I recognize that your agenda and the duties facing your Chief Performance Officer are urgent," Killefer wrote in the letter to the president, asking for her nomination to be withdrawn. "I have also come to realize in the current environment that my personal tax issue of D.C. Unemployment tax could be used to create exactly the kind of distraction and delay those duties must avoid." Just take a look at The Messiah's choices so far: Bill Richardson, commerce secretary - had to withdraw because he got caught in a corruption scandal for taking kick-backs in exchange for state contracts. Eric Holder, attorney general - helped Slick Willie pardon Puerto Rican terrorists and one of the biggest financial crooks in history. Tim Geither, treasury secretary and head of the IRS - repeated tax cheat and employed illegal as a personal servant. Tom Daschle, secretary of health and human services - repeated tax cheat who tried to lie his way out of it. Nancy Killefer, chief performance officer, withdrew her nomination for "tax reasons". Leon Panetta, head of the CIA - left wing liberal with no qualifications for the job other than an intense desire to destroy the CIA and handcuff America's intelligence gathering capability. So what about Obama's campaign promise of a "clean sweep" in Washington and his pledge to get rid of the crooks, hacks and incompetents? Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, headed the finance and banking committees for the last two years and ran F-MAE and F-MAC straight in to the ground? Still in power. Charles Rangle, chair of the ways and means committee and who writes the tax policy? Caught as a repeat tax cheat and tried to lie his way out of it? Still in power. What about Obama's promise to eliminate wasteful Washington spending and "go over the federal budget line by line and cut every wasteful and unnecessary spending item"? He hasn't cut a dime but he did create the biggest pork barrel, entitlement spending, give away, grow the federal government spending bill in the history of this country. Yep, this is certainly change we can believe in. Irish Mike Proud to be one of the 55,000,000+ Americans who did not vote for your Messiah.

A day earlier, Obama had said he "absolutely" stood by Daschle in the face of problems over back taxes and potential conflicts of interest." Well it looks like The Messiah and The Keystone Kops, just lost a Kop. I love the above quote from the article you referenced. What was the "surprise"? Daschle got caught cheating on his taxes last year. The only surprise was that The Messiah couldn't ram Daschle's nomination through like he did with fellow tax cheat, Tim Geitner. I also like the bit about The Messiah "absolutely" standing by Daschle. Just like he "absolutely" stood by Jerimiah Wright. Well tell Wright and The Messiah's old white granny to make room under that bus - here comes Daschle! Irish Mike

Irish Mike, my dear, dear friend, there was this time, oh, 2/3/2009 1:58 PM or thereabouts, when you let the following craziness loose on Usenet: > "Raider Fan" <raidersgotscrewed1@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:ughm56xeun.ln2@recgroups.com... >> On Feb 3 2009 12:53 PM, Irish Mike wrote: >> >>> "da pickle" <jcpickels@(nospam)hotmail.com> wrote in message >>> news:BuOdnYka9bFRFBXURVn_vwA@giganews.com... >>>> "Irish Mike" >>>> >>>>> Just when you thought Obama would have learned his lesson about >>>>> vetting >>>>> candidates before he appoints them to his administration, he picks >>>>> another tax cheat. >>>> But Daschle is now out. I think I saw that it was a "mistake" in the range of $120,000 over 2-3 years - hardly seems innocent to me!). At that point, what can Obama do that would be "right" in your eyes, Mike? If he keeps that person, you're gonna post new thread after new thread - "Obama keeps Tax Cheat as such-and-such!!!1!". If he drops that nominee, you go the "threw 'em under the bus!!!!1!" route. I mean, seriously... as predictable as you've become, could you perhaps drop the names of the poker rooms you frequent regularly? Cheers.

"Kyle T. Jones" > I mean, seriously... as predictable as you've become, could you perhaps > drop the names of the poker rooms you frequent regularly? Mike gets a little too excited at times. However, you seemed to be focused on him rather than the real problem. Obama is supposed to do the political thing and that is what he did. Politics as usual.
