Subject: Obama - gutting America's defenses
Many knowledgeable and experienced people serving in the American
anti-terrorism forces say the captives at Gitmo should never be released
because of the threat they pose to America citizens. Makes sense
considering that many of those we were forced to release have already
rejoined the terrorists working to kill Americans.
"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon said on Tuesday that 61 former
detainees from its military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, appear to have
returned to terrorism since their release from custody. Pentagon spokesman
Geoff Morrell said 18 former detainees are confirmed and 43 suspected of
"returning to the fight." He said the figures, updated at the end of
December, showed a higher rate of recidivism than seen in a previous report
showing 37 former detainees as active militants."

Obama has promised to close Gitmo and some say he may do it as early as a
couple of weeks. This will result in several hundred more terrorists
getting another chance to kill Americans.

As I said before, The Messiah is now the commander in chief. He controls
the white house, senate and congress. He has appointed his own hand picked
liberals and put them in place to destroy the CIA, demoralize the military
and to handcuff America's intelligence gathering capability. When there is
another terrorist attack on American soil it will be 100% on Obama and the
Democrats. And not even Chris Matthews, Oprah and the left wing ladies of
The View will be able to spin that away.

Alcoholics like you routinely lash out in anger, Mike... I and others here
on RGP understand.

All we really want is for you to seek help for your problem (it's not
entirely altruistic; we figure if you get treated it will cut down on your
voluminous bullshit posts).

BTW, I and other people like charrison know Guiness is spelled with two
n's, numbnut. It's just that we also know that when you're shitfaced
cross-eyed drunk (per usual), you always see two of everything so... why
bother?

I think the psychological term for your problem is transference. It's
fairly common among those of you with addictions. BTW bucko, sorry to
destroy your stereotype but with the exception of St. Patrick's Day, and the
odd New Year's Eve, I don't drink.

You're a fool if you think Obama is going to change anything substantive
about the way our intelligence agencies or foreign/national security
policies operate.

You're also a fool if you believe anything a "Pentagon spokesman" tells
you.

Or maybe you're just a fool, regardless.

And you are an idiot. Obama put left winger Leon Paneta in charge of the
CIA and he will handcuff, hamper and destroy that organization as fast as
he can. Obama is gutting America's information gathering capability and
it's just what the terrorists hoped he'd do. Jesus wept you moron - it's
why Hamas and Hezbollah endorsed Obama for president.

Actually, he's not appointing "hand picked" anything. He's putting in the

He -was- part of a Republican administration.

He changed his political position completely and he's -been-
ultra-liberal for a good long time; with all the tenacious zeal of the
convert. It's this particular, enthusiastic quality of liberal
conviction and administrtive competence that's brought him favorable
consideration within the Democrat party.

So, if you're suggesting that Obama is "reaching-out" to moderates with
this appointment, because the appointee formerly worked for Nixon,
you're wrong.

Carville held no post in the Clinton admin'

No, but he held posts in BOTH Clinton campaigns, and his consulting/lobbying
firm worked closely with the the Clinton administration pushing legislation
that Clinton wanted pushed through Congress. I like Carville's style, he
does his job as half pitbull half shark perfectly, but there is no real
cabinet posistion for him, and with all of the political "dirty tricks" he
would never be confirmed, since most of them were pulled AGAINST the same
Democratic Senators during Clinton's campains that would have to confirm him

Besides, that was a one-liner. Don't you have a sense of humor?

How do we know that this is simply a lie?

None of the prisoners that have been released from Gitmo are known to have
been terrorists in the past. None of them. So none would have "returned
to the fight".

They may have become terrorists. But it's not something they returned to.

It's simply a lie.

It's not a troll. Are you really naive enough to assume that the
government is telling you the truth when it has violated the Geneva
Conventions and both U.S. and international law in imprisoning these
people without access to the courts?

It always amazes me when the most "conservative" among us the ones
advocating personal freedom and small government are the most eager to
lap up the transparent lies and propaganda our government feeds them.

Need a bib?

I don't take anything the Government says at face value, especially this
"congress". I have read many stories from many conservative, liberal
pubications and web based news stories that all conclude that many of the
detainees that we let go are now trying to kill U.S. military and
Contractors in Afghanistan and Iraq. I'm don't for a second believe that
ALL of them "were" terrorists to begin with, or that all of them we let go
are involved in terrorism now, no one is that naive, bu the one point that I
think it was Gary that made is some of them "became" terrorists due to their
incarceration at "Git'mo". Git'mo wasn't my idea of a good thing, and still
isn't. We should have had suspected and captured fighters in prisons in the
"Green Zone" and held military tribunals, but then again, liberals would
scream about that too. They are NOT American citizens (for the most part)
and they do NOT deserve the same rights as Citizens since they aren't living
IN the U.S. Then again, we could have just blown them away instead of
giving them a chance to live. You make the call, what's your "big idea" for
the captured militants? Give me a different solution than what we've been
doing, if it's rational, I'll listen although I can't do anything about it,
others can.

How about we just become a nation of law?

That doesn't mean that citizens follow law, it means the government
follows the law.

Why don't you just say "I hate niggers, and can't stand one being President"
and be done with it?

At least it would be honest, for a change.

I don't know what Mike believes about race, but I haven't ever heard any
overt racism in his posts, he doesn't like Obama, that doesn't make him a
racist. Why is it that every time someone disagrees with a black, hispanic,
asian, persian, muslim, or female that they are automatically slapped with
the racist/sexist tag?

My biggest objections to Obama so far is the "Style over Substance" campaign
he ran, and now filling every cabinet slot with a Clinton, or a
"Clintonista". Explain how the HELL the new CIA Director designate has
absolutely NO Intelligence background? The only appointment I like that
he's made is HILLARY, who I don't like a bit, in fact I have disdain for
her, but I feel she will be a GREAT S.O.S, as I stated when her name first
surfaced as a potential nominee. She knows the players, and they all love
her husband and her, and according to Dick Morris (who is now out to
completely destroy her life due to sour grapes) she was VERY involved in her
husband's daily decisions. I think she'll be GREAT in the State Dept.,
whether or not I like her personally.

Its his racism that makes him dislike Obama.

You seem to almost always get it backwards.

Why is it that every time someone disagrees with a black, hispanic,
> asian, persian, muslim, or female that they are automatically slapped with
> the racist/sexist tag?

Mike's rants about Obama has almost nothing to do with disagreement.

He dislikes Obama and looks for reasons to justify it -- his attempts to
rationalize his hate does not translate into the reason for the hate. The
reason for the hate is just racism, independently of any of his
rationalizaations.

Bullshit.

You loved style when it was stylistic hate mongering done by right wing
nuts.

You think "compassionate conservative" wasn't style over substance?

So, sounds like Bush is to blame for this.

Closing Gitmo and releasing the people held there are two ENTIRELY
DIFFERENT FUCKING THINGS. Get a clue, geesus.

Mike is apparently under the impression that closing Gitmo means that
the detainees currently held there will be driven down to the beach
and issued a rubber dinghy with a paddle.

That might not be a bad Idea, actually. Let them paddle around the Island
to Cuba, they think they had it badly on the Windward side of the Island?
lol

Charleston SC has a beach.
