Yup, that's Massachusetts. Whatever on the gay thing. 1 oz of weed gets $100 ticket, only, in Massachusetts now. No arrests. A lot of dealers can easily do business with an ounce or less on hand. The other thing is that their primary source of information, snitches, will no longer be available. You can get arrested for an ounce of weed. What is the world coming to ? Please tell me you're trolling. Marijuana has the smallest profit margin by weight of just about any drug, legal or illegal. An ounce is next to nothing. You make money by buying in bulk, not moving an ounce at a time. ____________________________________________________________________ looking for a better newsgroup-reader? - www.recgroups.com

I am fully aware of the value of bulk when it relates to marijuana purchases. My point is that people who sell and carry less than an ounce are not at risk for carrying an oh zee. Now you go to jail for 6 mos or so. In a week or so, an ounce gets you a traffic ticket style piece of paper for a hundred or so and lose your bag. A lot of dealers in urban environments can carry less than an oz at a time and make more money than you think. I think the ounce price will drop some. Another way to look at it is the people who do get caught fairly often wont be getting sent to jail and all of those expenses will be spent on what ? More drugs Lower prices it could work out well, or not. Familes get broken up for that all the time. Now they wont. Instead, the dysfunctional families will have one less reason to fail. Legalized weed will have some effects. I can only suggest what i forsee here. The future hasn't happened yet. Not yet anyway. Soon enough the future will have happened already. Im sure the colleges here will have a huge boost. Yes, I can see how a person carrying less than an ounce has no chance of carrying a full ounce. That's self-evident. <snip > > The future hasn't happened yet. Not yet anyway. That's self-evident. i meant to type that dealer carrying oz now is at serious risk. user is similar. if a dealer has 4 quarters, or 8 eighths, it isnt a crime, soon presently that dealer is at huge risk for 3+ years. there are a lot of people that sell that have a few small bags. people go to jail for that. those people dont get popped anymore. ----- RecGroups : the community-oriented newsreader : www.recgroups.com

Surely it is still a felony to possess for sale, as well it should be. I suspect you don't know what you're talking about. By the way, under an ounce has been a non-arrestable misdemeanor in California for decades. You sound like what they have done in Massachusetts is a first. What the fuck is your problem, Skillz? -PP

Most people who smoke pot almost havent owned more than an ounce 5 times. All of those people are no longer criminals. an oz+ was bad news here now you dont make the newspapers, get a criminal record. if you had 4 quarter ounces you went to jail for up to 3.5 years now you pay 100 dollars, max.
