The only player I know that always has a briefcase with him is Tom
McEvoy, and it contains books he is trying to sell.Years ago , before he
went Belly up, I remember Pat Callahan carrying a briefcase with stacks of
benjies, but he never won a world series, and usually had a Casino guard
with him. Otherwise you stuck me. I give up! You and Fang probably know
more trivia then I do.Nevertheless I am having FUN and will probably keep
trying.

It was Tom McEvoy (biggest hidden clue was "eventual" winner because it was
the longest heads up battle in WSOP history against Rod Peate), the casino
owner was Benny Binion, they stole it when he was in the bathroom. What
they found was a BANANA he'd already eaten the sandwich. Slime called him
"That feller from the place in Michigan with those fast ass rivers" (Grand
Rapids) Tom didn't find out until he overheard Slim telling the story years
later, from what I understand.

Who was the floorman Johnny Moss confided in?

What would Johnny Moss say when he wanted to cold deck one of his
games?

What did the sign in the backend of the Dunes Cardroom state when
Johnny Moss ran the room?

Who was known as the "Big Indian"?

What was his specialty?

Why did he stop playing Omaha?

Who did the Big Indian travel with in Denver?

What nickname did this person earn?

What is the nick/name of the best road mechanic during the last three
decades?

What player took a tough beat and ran into a wall head first, knocked
himself out and put a big spot of blood on the cement? They then made
rings around the bloodspot with different colors and made it a
bullseye in case he did it again?

Who was the major mechanic at the Dunes in the 70s during Spliatro and
O'Connor days, while Chip Reese ran the room. He was on call and paid
$1500 a week plus a % to deal a few nights a week.

These guys took the TUSH away from those guys. When an Olympic
Heavyweight wrester tells you he's never seen a buddy of his lose a
fight in 25 years, you know he's tough. Guys like San Diego John and
his ilk were tough. Fought the underground fight circuit, like Clint
Eastwood in Any Which Wat But Loose. But, these guys would destroy
those guys. Portland had some real tush hogs in the 70s, like the
Ballantines, BIG RON (6'9" and 400lbs with an A frame) and the other
guy (porno guy) all three members of the 1200 lb club, since between
them they weighed 1200 lbs. Barred at all BUFFETS:). Now that's funny.
But, some of these Texas guys were like UFC fighters of yesterday.

Don't know if you know Chuck Herpin. Back in the late 60s there were
three young guys that were the young stars. Herpin, Joey Hawtorne and
myself. I was the only real poker player. Herpin made a lot of
enemies. Loaned money at giant interests. They set a Samoan guy on
him. Herpin was about my size and no push over. The guy picked a fight
and Herpin cold cocked him. The guy laughed and Herpin took off. The
guy followed Herpin to his house. Herpin emptied his 38 into the guy.
The police still had to pull the guy off Herpin.

Herpin was a known TUSH. So was Jess Pearce's son in law (he was a road
partner of Bobby Jarrett). He got stopped by a motorcycle cop on El Camino
Real and chain whipped the cop.
I think Chuck Davenport (real good hold out man with a move to the back of
his neck)
may have been one of the toughest. He never cared if he got caught since
he would just as soon whip the security guard's asses. Pete Havert and his
brother Jody were real bad mother fuckers. Bobby Jarrett was pissed off at
Pete for lighting in his game in Emeryville he found Pete at the
cockfights in Fresno and shot him twice. Pete went home to Carpenteria
recouped and ran on the beach to get his strength back. He found Bobby,
Bobby begged for mercy and they became lifelong friends.

I know it's Xmas eve, but THE BIG INDIAN is a really well known person
in poker history. Every old time rounder would know him. He's dead
now. Meanwhile, put a cement block around Precious if she's still
alive and drop her off boat.
