I have been playing many Stars tourneys and I see a guy CHAUNCY a lot. He
is usually playing 24 tables (check it out sometime, generally evenings-- do
a search). Also, he doesn't
take forever to make a move (one of my pet peeves: morons who play a few
tourneys and you have to eagerly aWAIT their every move).

Does anyone know who CHAUNCY is?

He seems to do/play very well. I checked him out on Poker Rankings and he
has an OUTSTANDING record (better than 99th percentile).

I am just amazed that he does so well, playing so many tables, and in such a
speedy manner.

He's got a 20% ROI on SharkScope with a silver star. His style is
super tilt. He deos $5 and $10 SNGs mostly. 7k games for a $9k profit.
Hard way to make an easy living! This guy has BOT written all over

He's played 5500 tournaments in the last 120 days. LOL. Looks like he
plays almost exlcusively small buy-in 45-person and smaller SNGs.

here is one:

Hello Malcolm,

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention.

I agree that this player=92s User ID is inappropriate.

Our goal at PokerStars is to be a fun place to play, where everyone
can
feel comfortable. I have sent this player a warning asking that he/
she
changes this User ID.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

What kind of name would be objectionable to somebody that reads RGP? Not
to mention what kind of titty baby would be offended by a name on a poker
site?

I changed my city name to o)(o which made it read (o)(o) and somebody
complained and they changed it. Now I am thinking it was a titty baby
like yourself that is offended by a name or a symbol where people are
drinking and playing poker!

Huh? He asked the player to change it? AFAIK Pokerstars doesn't
allow you to change your user ID once the account is created, at
least I don't see any way to do it.

Subject: Re: Does anyone know this player
Here is the response I got from Stars:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for your email. I will do my best to address your concerns.

Please rest assured that we do not tolerate automated players (bots) on
PokerStars. We have an extensive arsenal of detection tools in order to
ensure that each player is a human being.

While I cannot detail each of the tools we use to make this
determination (we don't want our methods to fall into the hands of bot
programmers who will then use that information to avoid detection), I
can assure you that we have reviewed this player and s/he shows no
indication or warning signs of being a bot. The player looks human to
us by every test we have devised.

There are many dozens of PokerStars customers who regularly play the
maximum number of tables at a time (which is 24 for cash games and
unlimited for sit and go tournaments). Please note that we're well
aware of exactly who these customers are (we have reports that show us
this), and we examine all such players with the bot hunting tools
I mentioned earlier, on a repeated and ongoing basis.

Massively parallel play is not by itself a reliable harbinger of a
bot. There are reasonable explanations as to how players can play
such a large number of games at once. The most tables I've seen
concurrently played (and we've seen it in the flesh), is 31 tables on
a single 17" notebook computer... and that player did this without
timing out. That video (and many others like it) are posted on YouTube
for all to see. Use keyword search terms "multi table poker" to locate
them. One of the first extreme multi-tablers was Hevad "Rain" Khan,
whom you saw on the final table of the 2007 WSOP on ESPN, and one of
those videos is his. Khan now is a member of Team PokerStars, in part
for his fame in multi-tabling.

In addition, many of these players have given up the mouse in favor of
hotkeys/macros, so that they don't have to move the mouse and click.
They just press F1 for fold, F5 for raise, F9 for call, etc... or
whatever keyboard combination they've configured. There are quite
advanced scripts out there that assign hotkeys to actions like "bet the
pot" or "bet 2/3 of the pot", calculating what the pot is and adjusting
the bet size for them based upon the key they pressed. Such hotkeys are
not prohibited.

Multitablers like this tend to overlap (or "cascade") their tables,
rather than spread them out across the screen with no overlap. They
rely on the PokerStars software to "pop up" or bring to the front the
next table that needs their attention. With that many tables, though,
these multitablers cannot respond to chat, even if they want to. As
soon as they input an action on your table, the next table will be
popping up, covering up the table you're at with another one requiring
their attention.

Please note that there is no inherent disadvantage to playing against
such players versus an equally skilled opponent playing only at one
table. In fact, many believe that these multi-tablers give up a fair
bit in expectation per table, but that it is worth it to them because:

4 tables at 3 BB/100 hands = 12 BB total
24 tables at 1 BB/100 hands = 24 BB total

Thus, they have made the decision to play six times as many tables, to
win only twice as much. That they are distracted and cannot ponder
close decisions means it is probably to your ADVANTAGE to play against
such a player, as he's not giving you his "best game".

Again we thank you for your report. I hope this has answered your
question completely. Please do not hesitate to let us know any time you
need anything.

I wish you the best of luck in your future games, and thank you for
playing on PokerStars.

Regards,

Peggy A

A bot with the ability to use Pocket Aces cheatware in conjuction with
pokerrng cheatware does not take long to act. It can tell what cards
it needs to win and if they are available. I have had my hole cards
changed by others in a tournament!! 24 tables at a time is imposible
to keep up with, without such a bot!! A 99 percent ranking is also
imposible without cheatware!!
