Suppose you found a bottle, and in the bottle were a genie. Let's say
this genie was a sort of poker genie who says he will offer you one of 2
possible "super powers."

1) The ability to see all of your opponents' hole cards.

2) The ability to see in advance all five community cards.

Your opponents won't know that you have this super power, and won't have
any way of knowing unless you tell them or somehow give it away. Which
one would you choose, and why?

With the advantage of #1 I have to assume risk on the next five cards.

> 2) The ability to see in advance all five community cards.

With the advantage of #2 I only assume risk on the two cards the opponent
has and there are numerous ways in which he may give that away.

#2 is the superior choice.

small nit: you only assume risk when you want to and you needn't
assume any risk at all - with GP2 you'll know in advance that your
25o will be the nut hand on the river, and you can limit yourself to
only playing those nut hands.

1) can make you money more quickly, but either will get you rich. 2) has the
added aspect of being an amazing feat. 1) could get you mistaken for a card
marker and killed. In the end, 2) still represents a challenge, but no real
chance of losing, so I'd take that one.

This one, as you would always know the strength of everybody's hands
during every betting round. You can play a ton of hands from any position
with this information.

> 2) The ability to see in advance all five community cards.

You will only know the strength of your own hand. You could still be 2nd
best at showdown plus you will miss out on opportunities to bluff because
you will fold early on when your ending hand will be weak.

Definitely #1.

absolutely 100% WRONG WITH #2 YOU ALWAYS KNOW HOW STRONG YOUR HAND IS

iN SCENARIO 1 YOU HAVE TO HAVE A HAND THAT BEATS THEIR HAND . Even if
you know what they have .. you have to beat it

Not near as easy to make him lay down the AA than if the board is 5678(h)

Who gives a shit? You don't have to win them all.
How much more do you think they'll pay with those
2 black kings? You keep winning those lil' pots.

What if your opponent has AA, you have 22,
and your opponent ships his 800bb stack preflop?
You're folding the ducks, while I'm counting chips
because I knew I'd be making quads on the turn!

I wouldn't turn your power down... but given the
choice it's the weaker of the 2. With GP2, outside
of the blinds, you don't have to put a penny into any
pot in which you wouldnt have the nuts on the end...
GP1 you're playing small ball as more often than not
you have to see the river before knowing if it's your
pot.

Regardless of which power you get, be sure to lose
a few pots in between your raking in the big ones so
as not to get caught like those other retards! Throw
the fishies a bone every once in a while.

Oh, and once again GP2 > GP1
Hell, GP2 > GP1 * 2 !!!
Believe it!

Makes perfect sense to me. Knowing exactly where you stand in
everyhand trumps the other option by a mile. How anyone could argue
otherwise is beyond me.....

When you know the board in advance you don't have to play every hand...

?!? You're retarded. What's to stop you from bluffing?
You *should* do it on occasion and lose a few pots to
prevent people from catching on to your genie powers!

You dont need one with scenario 2 .. you check call and look like a moron
making the nut straight any time you want to .

I would say "Russ, with all due respect, go away."

Assuming that I were willing to cheat, I would choose the first one.
The second one would be more devestating but it would be inexplicable.
Eventually, I would be found dead in an alley. In other words, I think
it would be inevitable to "somehow give it away."

The first would seem, especially if I did _always_ get it right, like
good play. People might be shocked to see me playing well but most
would not get suspicious.

Has it been 6 months already?

You must not think me necessarily foolish because I am facetious,
nor will I consider you necessarily wise because you are grave.
