This event happened a long time ago, at the old Gold Coast Open, before Sexton became rich and Famous. It was a limit holdem tournament, and we were down to the last 3 tables. I had pocket eights, and Sexton had a bigger pocket pair. I don't remember the board. He was betting all the way, and I was calling. On the river I caught an eight, and check raised him.He paid off, then made the following remark. "If you had led, I would have raised you, and then called a reraise, and you would have won an extra bet." I often wondered if that remark was truth? indicating that I misplayed the hand, or just sour Grapes? I eventually took third in that event. Walt I contradict myself? I doubt he was being honest. Taking the lead after checking and calling on the previous rounds is telegraphing a strong hand that will probably get a call but not a raise. eldo77 ____________________________________________________________________ : the next generation of web-newsreaders : http://www.recgroups.com

You won way more by being lucky and getting there, then you lost on that single bet. You may have played the hand poorly, but not in the way that you are portraying.

His bookie is for sure. You know the basement players, I know the Penthouse boys and Sexton has virtually lost his ass betting sports. Money is far more important when you're young. I'm over 60 now and don't need anywhere near what I spent earlier in life. I don't worry about money as I have enough to live comfortably. Again your blowing things threw your ass you have no idea about. If I had a Billion now, what good would it do me? Coudln't spend it and would die with most going to the government. He just started betting more on sports. No matter how much you have, you can lose it gambling. You're a fool if you think he stopped sports betting or it hasn't gotten most of the money. Of course it is true ... if you believe it was true. Maybe Mike really believed what he said, but that does not matter if you believe what he said. Or maybe it was sour grapes ... or maybe just fermented grapes ... and not a good year ... just a poor whine.
