wonder if it would be a good idea for casinos to register the initials of people who are waiting for a seat at tables games such as poker or blackjack. If a seat opens, the pit boss or someone else announces the opening and the initials of whoever registered first. Alternately, people waiting for table games can take a number and the number can be announced if a seat becomes open. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of such a system?

For poker this is already done. Some casinos are going to even having a "beeper" like at Chili's so you can wander around. For poker, where you usually play for hours, this makes sense. For other table games I doubt any casino would go for it. Reason is that it would cut ddown on play. As it is now, you find a table game andd limit you like and then find an open seat. Say you are a low limit player and the $1 BJ table at Slots-A-Fun is packed. As it is now, you walk over to a $3 or $5 table, sit down and play the slightly higher limit. And if a seat does come up, someone sits right down. Now say we use a take-a-number system. You take a number and leave the $1 table and get a $.99 shrimp cocktail or whatever. You just wait. You don't play. When a seat opens, it will take a few minutes for you to sit down. And that is an open seat for that time. All losses. At higher limits the effect is the same, but there are more open seats at the higher limits so less need for such a system. And they are more aggressive at opening tables as limits go up.

Indeed! :-) ___________________ Free Gift! Is there a way to eternal life? If there was, wouldn't you really want to know? Not all roads lead to God, and by now you may have discovered life is not as simple as you once thought. For those who are at this crossroad, the Bible offers a new direction, one filled with purpose, fulfillment, and acceptance. The steps are simple: Recognize that you are a sinner. You must admit your spiritual need: =93There is none righteous, not one.=94 (Romans 3:10) We can=92t make excuses or blame others for our actions. =93For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.=94 (Romans 3:23) Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. =93For Christ also suffered once for our sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God=85=94 (1 Peter 3:18) Jesus paid the price for our sin. The Apostle Paul said, =93=85the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.=94 (Galatians 2:20) Repent of your sins. The word =93repent=94 means to change your direction. The Bible tells us, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.=94 (Acts 3:19) God commands us to repent. You must be willing to turn away from the things that displease God. Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Jesus said, =93Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.=94 (Matthew 11:28) It is essential to come to Jesus just as you are. Don=92t try to =93clean up your life=94 before you come to God. Instead, receive Him and allow Him to do the cleansing. Jesus said, =93All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.=94 (John 6:37) =93=85If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.=94 (Romans 10:9)
