Subject: 5 Days Left People!

Alright so I have sold 59 squares in the RGP Superbowl pool and have made
the cutoff day Friday to sell them all. I do not want to be checking the
computer every 5 minutes on Saturday so Friday is the cutoff day.
41 squares left to sell!
If for some reason I do not get them sold I will transfer everything back
that was sent to me.
For those who may have OT killfiled please forgive my ignoring Usenet
etiquette to make sure everyone sees this message (everyone except for
those who may have me kilfiled that is)
If you are interested and are not aware of the details let me know and I
will paste the info in this thread.

It will have to equal out or at least come close so I can buy up a couple
to make it even. I also have to make sure it is ok with everyone that I
do that. At the current rate the squares would be worth 2.95. Say
someone bought 50.00 in squares they now have enough in the pot to buy
16.9 squares. That doesn't really equal out.
So let this serve as a direct poll for those who have bought squares.

Is it alright with you that we lower the amount the squares are worth IN
THE EVENT they do not sell out?

I totally agree with Chris. Friday morning, the people in it should
figure it out. We might even be willing to buy an extra square each if

That is what I was talking about. ONLY if they all didnt sell and ONLY
the people who bought squares have a vote.
We would be dropping the $ to fit the number of squares already sold so

hell I'd play if it was a $0.25 thing as it is just for fun but I'd like
the thing to sell out. I just don;t think it would be fair to drop the
price and then have a bunch of people show up out of nowhere because it
dropped in price.
I would love to play (donate) in a $20 RGP home game but there haven't
been any higher then $5 that I can make. If you put one together on Stars
this Friday I will play. I won;t do FTP as i have not made a deposit there
yet and don't see doing it while I am profiting on Party.

only entitles him to one square not the four you purchased at $5 per
square totaling $20.
Look at it this way, You have 4 horses running in a 100 horse race. Mr.

Well I got the site all set and wanted to share how this is going to be
done.
I have a password and a username that I will be giving people to access
the site and make their picks, but first comes the money.
I have already made 10 picks at 5.00 a square. So I am in for 50.00 up to
this point and it also leaves 90 squares left to pick.
I think everyone on here has money on one site or another so I am guessing
the best way to do this would be to transfer on Pokerstars (this is the
only site I have an active account on)
I would appreciate an email saying that you transferred and once I get it
I will reply to the email with the username/password and a link to the
page.
It would be easier for me to keep track of if everyone picked their
squares under their RGP name. So Schmedley put Schmedley not 'I rule
squares' or something.
We are obviously doing 5.00 squares so the total prize pool will be
500.00. The following will be the breakdown for payouts:
20% 1st quarter
20% 2nd quarter
20% 3rd quarter
40% 4th quarter
Overtime does NOT count here. The end of the 4th quarter will end the
squares. So if there is a 5th quarter it does not matter for the purposes
of this pool.

Well the big problem is that if you do a 10x10 square there's 1000 squares
whereas if you do a 9x9 square there's only 999. I'm sure you can see why
this is an issue.

We used to get 25-30 people to show up for a $20 RGP home game. Now you
guys can't get a full table for $5. We have morons every day talking
about how "profitable" and "juicy" all the online games are then they post
hands from 1c/2c or $1 sngs. It's a disgrace.

I was hoping to do 10.00 squares as well. That of course did not happen.
It is penny ante, but it is still fun. I know what you are saying as far
as getting people excited, but (and maybe I am wrong about this) maybe

I agree. I was not around for the 25-30 people at 20.00 which sounds fun.
It really just seems like RGP is going the way of the dinosaur almost
literally.
I do not have time to 'subscribe' to other groups and have my roots here
which is kind of a double edged sword. You have the freedom to say
whatever the 'fuck' (haha) you want, but that also is the reason it is
half impossible to read.

I think it is a mix of that AND trust. I mean how hard is it to trust
someone on a group that has Russ on it. Add to that the hate that gets
spewed around here from the old fogies who sometimes miss their meds and
you end up with what we have.

Russ has never participated in RGP games and has never been considered a
core component of RGP unless we're talking about the noise side of the
signal:noise ratio.
The games used to be fun and challenging. For $20 or $30 those of us who
weren't high rollers could play competitively at our normal buyin level.
Those who played higher could throw in a buyin and give us a much more
competitive game than we were used to. It was still enough to make it
somewhat worth it for them to play, and they had fun at the same time.
For $5 those people don't think it's even worth it, and even those of us
who play for $20 or $30 normally find it a waste of our time. The thing
is, $20-$30 buyins are considered low stakes, yet half the people who play
RGP games would never consider putting "that much" up for a single
tourney. Add in the amount of sheer begging that goes on before a game,
and the fact that the overall play in the game PLAYS like a $5 tourney,
it's just not worth it for most people to play.

At the expense of looking like a tool for repeatedly saying the same thing

The squares are picked randomly by the site.
I click a button when every square is sold and it randomly generates a
number for every square and you will then know what numbers are yours.
Everyone can see everyone elses numbers. You went through Susan who then
in turn went through Charrison (that whole thing seems funny to me, but
whatever) and Charrison has picked your squares already, but here is the
part where I need you to pay special attention to:
The numbers have not yet been picked. You have squares, but the numbers
will randomly generate when all the squares are sold. Ask Susan and or
Charrison for your numbers this Friday or Saturday.

I think that's only if it goes into a 5th quarter. Otherwise, it's only
75% of your square that are touching his.

You also have two squares on the same vertical or horizontal line which
means you will have that number twice. That could be good or bad
depending on what number ends up on that line. I like to spread mine out.

$500.00, with $100.00 going to the winners of the first, second, and third

After they are all sold the numbers are filled in radomly.
Say the NFC is the horizontal row - cards will be drawn from 0 to 9 and
entered outside the grid.
The AFC is vertical, and the cards are drawn again from 0 to 9 and entered
outside the grid.
If you have a square that matches up to a 7 for the NFC, and a 3 for the AFC
at the end of the first quarter and the score ends with the NFC ending with
a 7 (7, 17, 27 etc) and the AFC ending with a 3 you win the first quarter
money.
Same for half etc etc.
