I will be in the LA area (Laguna Beach) for the next several weeks and will probably play a little poker while I am there. I will play holdem from nothing limits (like 3-6) to 20-40 limits and some small blind NL. If there are some decent Omaha8 games I will play in those as my 1st choice. If you see a really good looking guy with a southern accent - dat might be me. My usual attire is velour sweat suits with a polo shirt. I will play mostly at HG and perhaps once each at the Bike or Commerce and at least one trip to Oceanside to watch the partnerships at work. The rest of the crew may go one night to one of the Indian casinos like Penchanga on a week end. It is possible that I might fly to LV for two nights during the week but those plans are still fluid come get the easy money minus200 my name describes my game (minus300 coming soon)

"DELETETHIS" > The rest of the crew may go one night to one of the Indian casinos like > Penchanga on a week end. If you go, I would be interested in your comments on the rake and any other quite interesting "rules" there. Ask about the "no matter what; we get a buck" rule.

Many Cal gamblers would be delighted with that approach. In many places it's "No matter what we take the maximum drop". In > many places it's "No matter what we take the maximum drop". Let's see. "No flop, no drop" ... ... nope. "Chop, no drop" ... ... nope. "10% up to $5" ... ... nope. Max rake comes as soon as possible ... ... yep. i.e. 1/2 NLHE ... folds to small blind ... he calls ... big blind checks ... there is no pot ... the $4 is dropped. And the next dollar, if there is one, goes in too. You gotta love it. And if there are three players at the turn and you think you are being "squeezed" by the other two guys ... one bets, you call, the other raises, the first calls and you fold and then they check it down at the river ... don't ask to see the hands ... only they can ask to see the other's hand ... not you and not anyone who was dealt in at the beginning of the hand ... unless you are in the hand at showdown, you cannot ask. (well, you can ask ... )

Of course, I am well aware that "rules" change during different phases of the moon or humidity readings. I had just never heard of not being able to see all hands at showdown, especially if there is even the slightest hint that someone might be colluding.
